The two-night four-hour premiere begins 9/8c on FOX.

Jack appears to be life and well.

He escaped another near death experience at the conclusion of Season 7 as daughter Kim Bauer chose to have the dangerous stem cell procedure after Jack was exposed to a deadly pathogen.

The events of Day 8 will supposedly begin at 4 p.m.

And he's going to be ornery. He specifically told them NOT to do that. For crying out loud, let the man die in peace! Hasn't he been through enough?

Also, I always thought it didn't start until after the SB? Glad we don't have to wait, but it usually takes a good 6 hours to really get going.

Hey, maybe this year they get off the whole terrorist bombing thing and do the financial terrorism thing. Jack Bauer undercover as a mortgage broker!

show has been "meh" for me for a few seasons now. IMO, it peaked in season 4 (Habib Marwan & downing of AF1), the PC police have taken over since and the writing has suffered.

^^ Season 5 was the best season thus far imo. 4 is right behind but 5 was incredible.

I doubt Jack is orney since this season takes place some period of time after season 7. Can't wait though, going to be good.

Id rank them:

5 (overall, by far the best)
3 (loved the first half when he went back to Mexico. Season as a whole was very solid as well)
4
1 (was truly an amazing season given it was the first season and had limited budget to work with)
2
6 (started going downhill a bit)
7 (by far the worst, imo. Really the only season I havent enjoyed thoroughly.)

Season 8 will be the last I watch them all of unless it is great again. If it is so-so I probably wont watch season 9. If it is really good again, like the first 5, I will watch all of season 9.

Looking forward to the show starting again. I also recommend fans of 24 to check out TheClevelandFan.com (usually Wednesday) for a funny recap of that Monday's episode.

Here is the season 7 finale recap for anyone who might be interested although he uses nicknames that you may not understand unless you've followed along.

Jets pull off the upset.

Don't think we'll have one on 24.

Jack Bauer heavy favorite over the terrorists or any of the old army generals looking to get back at the US with nuclear weapons or nerve gas lol

I thought the writing the last two years has been much better. Actual story telling rather than just throwing ridiculous plot twist after plot twist at us. But they struggled to maintain that level of quality writing and both slipped as the year went on.

Will be interesting. I think they've pretty well exhausted the whole bioweapon/bomb scenario. What other angle could they have? Perhaps a plot to get a sleeper elected POTUS, you know, maybe like an American-born muslim?

Ehhhh, new rules on blows to the head and illegal contact might make it a tougher go for Bauer.

This season already appears to be better than season 7.

I think the decision to leave DC and go back to a major city (with an actual downtown) is a good decision.

Jack hitting the guy in the chest with the axe made my night. Pretty decent start to the season and hopefully it continues tomorrow night as well.

I liked it.

This season has promise.

Although I'm not a big fan of the US woman president. They should've got rid of her.

If there is a movie I think it should include Ed Harris.

And super babe is coming back!

As for "Jen"....hot body, butter face....Clearly a stripper that was probably into drugs and hooking. That's my guess.
