I've noticed that Jawad Williams has been getting meaningful minutes since the firdt of the year. Is somebody hurt ??

Jamario Moon is out for a couple more weeks with an abdominal strain.

Yeah, he will be back on the bench when Jamario comes back, but he has been playing very well.

Williams has stepped in for Moon who is sidelined to get healthy from a muscle strain. He could play right now if it was the playoffs but the Cavs are just taking the precautionary route.

Williams will head back to the bench once Moon returns.

And rightfully so. Although Williams has preformed well, Moon is the better option off the bench.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jawad was shipped off in a trade, along with Z and Hickson. Could be another reason he's in the rotation, to try to give some games for all teams to evaluate his talent.

Sleeper, what gives you that idea? Any murmurs of such a deal?

There are rumors involving David West for Boobie, Jawad, Wally and possibly JJ. There is speculation that Jawad is simply being showcased for a trade. Cavs are rumored to be interested in Jamison, Murphy and West. It sounds like Ferry wants to avoid trading Z at all costs. I think if the Cavs want a legit PF they need to include Z. Ferry might just have to get a little creative, why not throw in some cash towards Z's buyout? Letting the big fella rest for a month before rejoining the Cavs wouldnt be a bad thing.

eh....he hasn't done anything that separates him from the rest of the pack. I don't have a problem with him, but I don't think he is anything special.

He is good.

He straight up shafted the Bucks for Williams. The Shaq trade was good along with the trade that brought us West.

Parker and Moon are looking like two solid FA gets from this past summer also.

He has solved the mis matches that hurt Cleveland last year against Orlando.

I like Ferry, I think he's probably one of the best in the league.

I agree that he is good. He has completely revamped this roster. His best move was getting Williams. Worst move was that huge contract for Larry Hughes.

I would have liked him to get a bigger name at the 2.

His drafting has been suspect though

That deal is why I think he is average. He didn't get the player that he wanted, so he just took the best available.

But to be fair, even the elite GMs have bad signings like that on their resumes.

It was only a bad signing because Hughes failed to live up to expectations. He was a good scorer, not shooter, and he was tremendous defensively, but didn't improve, nor maintain while he was here. Problem with scorers is that they don't tend to do well while playing with superstars. Hughes needed almost 18 shots to get 22 points his last season as a Wizard, and LeBron is really the only guy at the time that could be a high volume shooter, thus, Hughes FG attempts per game went down, as well as his scoring.

If you remember correctly, Redd resigned with Milwaukee, Ray Allen I think was the other big name free agent, and he elected to re-sign with Seattle, which left us only Hughes. While today it seems like a terrible deal, we had to sign someone, no way Cleveland fans could have made it through another season without a #2 option, and we had to pay Hughes a little more than Washington was willing to offer him in order to get him to leave. Problem ended up being that we were expecting Scotty Pippen and ended up getting more like Jamal Crawford.

Hughes was a good option at the time that just didn't pan out nor mesh with LeBron.

I'll take the other good moves Ferry has taken over one bad move that really didn't kill the Cavs because they had no other options at that time.

Hindsight is 20/20. EVERYONE thought we got an All-Star and a "Scottie Pippen" in Larry Hughes. He just didn't live up to it, he had a fluke season in Washington. Can't really hold it against Ferry, it was Larry's job to execute and he couldn't do it. Not the GM's fault, no matter who it is.

I think Ferry has assembled a roster with enough quality players that if LeBron does decide to leave, we have enough talent on the roster to not completely fold and still be an OK team. In addition, we would have cap space to sign another big name player. So whatever the outcome is this summer, I think the Cavs will still continue to be a good team. And that is all because of the work Ferry has done. Kudos to Ferry.

On the record, though, I do believe LeBron resigns with Cleveland.

Well, to be fair, he's drafted Shannon Brown, Boobie, JJ, and Darnell Jackson... As well as Danny Green..

From where we usually pick, those aren't bad draft choices.

No murmurs, I don't have any inside info, but it makes sense to showcase his talent a little bit.

Williams is in the rotation so that Moon can get 100%. Instead of forcing him to play like some teams are doing with their players, he will be fully healthy by the end stretch of the season. Moon may not put up huge numbers but he is a big part of what Cleveland wants to do defensively.

The David West trade rumor is pointless atm because their GM said he will not trade either Paul nor West to get under the luxury tax. That may change but until then I don't consider him an option.
