I've been looking into a place called Uncle Joe's Pizza that sells by the slice.

If you are going to Vegas and ur worried about finding a place that sells pizza by the slice, instead of making you buy the entire pizza, you might not need to be going to Vegas. Just my opinion.

I'll be going in May. This will be my fifth trip with the wifey. We're staying at the Riviera. I'm wanting to hit the Bellagio buffet. We always go downtown (ride the deuce) and go to this casino that has $1 hot dogs and fries. We also hit the stores for viewing (though my wife will by a few things). If you get a rental car, head to the Grand Canyon and do the Sky Walk. It's awesome.

I was going to suggest that. You avoid the long lines. If you're nice/generous to the hosts, they'll let you grab some "company" who may not want to stand in line and go in with you as a VIP.mucalum49 wrote: I second bottle service at GhostBar. You can get VIP for all 4 clubs in Palm for $75 (Jan. 08) if you go there the day before. I like Tryst which is located in the Wynn but the best part of it is the outdoor waterfall that the dance floor opens up to. Might be too cold for LV standards so they may have the glass doors closed.

Me and my fiancee wanted to do that the last time we were in Vegas. But it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive (according to the guy at the car rental desk) and we weren't about to waste an entire day of being drunk to go that far.Stiffman wrote: If you get a rental car, head to the Grand Canyon and do the Sky Walk. I didn't state that I was specifically looking for pizza by the slice, just that the place having pizza by the slice was nice!

Sherm,
Last time I was in Vegas, we actually did a day at the Grand Canyon and a day in LA. Will probably do it again in May.

I avoided the gambling. Didn't enjoy throwing my money away.
If you are taking a female. The best part of the trip for me was barhopping and flirting with the bartenders while the guys gambled.
And of course laying by the pool.
I went in the spring 0f '97. My favorite bar was the Harley Davidson Cafe.
That's my suggestion for any female attendees on your trrp.

I was told the same thing but I disagree. I probably could have stayed there forever.khujo wrote:Pace yourself, 5 nights is a pretty long stay in Vegas.Chesapeake wrote: Now staying at 3 diffferent hotels because of free room offers.

Leave Columbus Thursday with a stop in Chicago "no plane change".
So far I know we're going to see Vinnie Favorito at the Flamingo.

I personally think it is extremely overhyped.jordo212000 wrote: Man Vegas sounds sweet. Would love to get out there someday
It was fun for a couple days, but past that it was just boring. It was fun just walking in and out of every casino up and down the whole strip, but not much else to do unless you have a lot of money.
Not to mention it is a crap hole if you leave the strip. Just a dump of a city.
But on the plus side, when I was at a 7-11, I was offered some coke by a one armed dealer on a bike. That raised Vegas in my book.

What would your SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis of Las Vegas, as a whole, look like?

The problem with Vegas... Its strengths will end up being your weakness. Accross the board, unless you do not like to:
Eat too much, drink too much , or gamble too much. (on occasion)

Vegas is a blast, I am headed back there again in August for my bachelor party. Trust me, just splurge, Vegas on a budget isn't really experiencing the city. Check out the amazing array of restaurants there, get bottle service at one of the swanky clubs, sip frozen drinks poolside and just take in the excitement. After 3 days or so you will be burned out, but its worth it ... and oh yes, Spearmint Rhino is a must. Don't be suckered into going anywhere else (don't listen to the cabbies, who are paid to recommend competing clubs).

The Vinnie Favorito show was at the Flamingo but I don't think we gambled there.sherm03 wrote: When I was there last summer, I won most of my money at the Flamingo, O'Shea's, and Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon. All are right in the middle of the strip, and next to each other.
Had a small stop at Bill's with a bit of machine play.
Watched the water show at whichever place had that.
There was a guy that looked exactly like you at Fremont in Downtown Friday night.
Spent most of my time downtown.
Left the house Thursday morning with 1,010.00 with the flight and hotel already covered.
Gambled a lot, spent around 100.00 on gifts, ate plenty of Uncle Joe's Pizza which turned out super good, bought 10.00 worth of pretty good smoke that would sell for 20.00-25.00 in our area from some dude that works at Walgreens and a utensil that could be thrown away before we left, two 20.00 bottles of Cuervo, three 7.00 twenty four hour bus passes to the strip, drank free while gambling but tipped quite a bit while there, two one way shuttle bus trips from and back to airport at 8.00 a shot, and who knows what else while I was tore up on Cuervo.
Returned to the house this morning with 745.00
Hit 189.00 on a penny machine at Golden Nugget right before going to bed the last morning there.
I hit 23.00 on the same machine playing 40 lines per bet a few days earlier.
Pretty much everything I won was at the Golden Nugget.
Plenty of rude dealers at El Cortez and the place smells like powder.
