Poland Bulldogs defeated Boardman last night 86-67 and forced the Spartans into 28 turnovers. Poland has now improved to 5-0 and had several in double digits last night.....Wollet with 17, Donlow with 17, Fatimus with 16, and Baker with 10.

Campbell better figure out what it means to play together real fast. Too much talent and not enough teamwork. They will make a great run now. I would not be surprised in looking at their schedule if they win 90% of the rest of their regular season games. But if they want regionals.....after that Struthers game loss.....they better figure out which guys will put the ego's aside and dish the ball off in transition and which five together are willing to play team defense. Either that or go the hell home again. Very annoying to have so much talent that refuses to play together.

Campbell beat Liberty the other night....and at 4-3 now play Girard. I believe the Devils only have 3 or so tests left in a shortened season of 18 games. So 14-4 or better is attainable. Just do not believe they are regional champs material at the moment. Hope they prove me wrong. WHAT AM I SAYING....THEY HAVE TO GET THROUGH DISTRCTS FIRST. Alot of talent....they have got to play together.

On a side note.....my son was born on Dec. 30th. About as happy and proud as a dad could be. Just thought I would brag for a minute fellas...:). Can't do it on JJhuddle anymore....I've been banned!!! lol.

Soup........I use to feed that roast to the dog when nobody was looking when I was a little pride. Or i would pull the old wipe your mouth with your napkin and spit it out routine. As i got older and appreciated real food over donuts....that roast became quite the meal. I will let her know you guys enjoyed it.

Everyone else thankyou for your well wishes. However, I doubt highly this young man is a Red Devil. Wish I was wrong....but this town leaves me with nothing to be desired. I too will PROBABLY be off to the land of 224 sooner or later. Just the way it works in this town I will always consider home. The elderly people destroy any chance at change...and the younger people leave because of it. Maybe that changes...maybe it doesn't.

Campbell to make up the Girard game tomorrow.....sports.....this will not be one of those tests we are talking about in my opinion. This game gets ugly fast.

I heard a kid from Salem dropped 42 on Poland tonight.

That's sweet, except that Poland broke 100, lol.

Poland 106
Salem 75....or something like that, anyone help me out?

EDIT: nevermind, I remembered right. Here is the Salem News article:

"We're going out to be the best we can be," Salem coach Will Klucinec said. "We can control how well we're prepared. That's it. We can control the choices and decisions we make. That's it. It showed tonight. Did we make a lot of basketball mistakes, absolutely. I think this team grew up a little bit and started to understand what it's like to play with that type of intensity and then all of a sudden to make a few basketball plays and say, 'boy, we're okay."
LMAO! They sure grew up giving up 100+ coach. I realize you were playing a great team but what kind of BS statement is that. He got lucky that he had a player go lights out and score 42 tonight, they didn't grow up that's just the only reason they didn't get beat by 50+. After going down 16-0, my hat is off to the PLAYERS AND PLAYERS ONLY for fighting and trying to push a great team.

Good win for the Bulldogs and impressive fight by the Quakers. Hats off to Madison for his 42 point finish. Nights like these make me a bit nervous for Poland. It seems that teams are having success in breaking the press. Poland has come out of the gates hot, but i'm sure they will run into some much closer games down the stretch. The fast-paced game works well in the Mahoning Valley, but I wonder how successful it will be if Poland advances to regionals and possibly states. Best of luck to both of these area teams the rest of the season.

It is too bad Salem missed their first 6-8 shots and spotted Poland 16. After that, it was a decent game, especially when Salem finally mixed it up and went man with some pressure out front to force some issues. Maybe someday we'll come out of the gate like that and try to do the dictating instead of getting dictated to every game.

Nice game by Madison and Toothman played very well also. Go Quakers !!

Poland's team is fun to watch. They will make some noise in the districts this year and hopefully further. There bench depth is unbelievable!!!

For the Quakers - nice offensive game - by Madision - also include Toothman, Wolfgang, and Kenreigh - (stable players every game this season) breaking the pressure while most of the time being double teamed and making awesome passes to the scorers, and for playing solid defense - causing the Bulldogs to turn the ball over - Looking forward to league play....

Know you are a coach hater but thanks for kind of giving praise to the players -

I don't hate the man, I just think he's an awful coach and I KNOW there are better options out there for the Quakers at that position.

Salem forced Poland into more turnovers than Poland did Salem. I think that the way to beat Poland is to try to limit there scoring (no easy feat) and jumping on you early. It seemed as if the Quakers broke the press with ease it was just limiting Poland scoring that was the problem.

Lets be honest about one thing though, they got 42 points out of one player. While he should most certainly be congratulated on a great game, that isn't going to happen very often. There aren't too many teams in NEO with enough talent to beat Poland.

Okay something needs to be pointed out about the game. The 42 points Madison scored werent just him going lights out shooting the ball. Several times he converted fast break layups as a result of Wolfgang and Kenreigh forcing turnovers.

Salem got the game down to nine points in the third quarter, when Poland got caught in one of their line change subsitiutions. Fatimus, Donlow and Baker were not on the floor when they made the run. This is where Klucinec made the one big mistake. He called time out. Grisdale didnt call a TO, Klucinec did. And right after, they all came back in and Baker just started dunking like crazy to push the game out.

I noticed. I believe the Mustangs are unbeaten. Hopefully they can keep up the pace and make some noise come tournament time.

Salem over Girard in a very physical battle. I can understand one "questionable" ref but three? It was unbelievably bad for both teams. Good job Quakers!!
