He has also been regarded as one of the best run blocking tackles in the league the past 10 years. That's why we have "blown it out of proportion." Your claims regarding his run blocking are unsubstantial.BR1986FB;1883912 wrote:Garrett has been "good" but I'm not slobbering all over his play, like others. Shit, if he ends up being even as good as Michael Dean Perry I'll be happy with the pick.
As far as JT goes, you guys are the ones who have blown this out of proportion. My opinion is that he's not all that great of a run blocker and if you need a "road grader" to grind out a 2-3 yard run on 3rd down he's not one of the top run blockers I'd want in that situation. The guys pass blocking is impeccable though. I have no beefs with that and he's been the best in the business at that. He's a first ballot HOFer, no doubt. I just don't like his run blocking skills. Queue the PFF pimps in 1.....2......3......
On a side note, as good as JT is a player, he definitely has a future in either media or a front office someone. The guys personality is very intelligent/funny.
As for Garrett, nobody is slobbering over him. We are pleased to see where he is heading into his 7th game after missing time due to injury (not to mention an entire training camp and preseason). So far Garrett has pro bowl potential and the experts (including the best tackle the last 20-30 years) agree. Last week you said haven't been impressed. I am trying to figure out what is impressive for you. Bosa? He is so far on track to having the same season as Bosa. So far it seems like Myles has to be Lawerence Taylor or Reggie White by the 7th game of his career for you to be happy with our rookie first overall pick.
