I love the NBA. I love watching it even with the ridiculous amount of bitching and no calls. But there is something about college that I will always take it over the NBA.

That game will be great.

Indiana - Duke last night was very solid and well played by both teams. Duke is fucking loaded.

Carolina lost Justin Jackson, Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks, and Tony Bradley from their national championship team last year. They're 7 games into the season with a bunch of unproven bigs. I'm not gonna call them a title contender, but they'll still be solid this year.

Yeah, who needs college when you can watch an overly-long pro season where a hilariously large proportion of teams reach the postseason, allowing stars to decide when they feel like turning it on, as well as take games completely off solely for rest purposes!!!!

Sure, not every game is good. A lot of pro games suck ass, too.

The worst pro game is still filled with x times the talent of most college games. That's the issue. Last nights game, which featured 2 big programs, more closely resembled a high school game than an NBA game. And that's not good.

to satisfy college fans.. march madness is more exciting than the nba playoffs, minus the finals. And that's without appreciating college basketball.

lol No one's saying it's a revelation. Calm down. Just don't compare "bad" nba teams (knicks/heat) as an argument not to watch NBA vs watching college. It will always be a losing argument.

Not sure, what you're getting at. It's two different products and not "one or the other."

I actually like that fact that there is less talent at the college level because it stresses fundamentals. I also like defense.

One v one iso ball and going half ass on defense NBA in November does not appeal to me. I only tune into big matchups. I get more into it as the season goes on.

I can see that. And I don't think anyone likes iso ball in the NBA either. I don't really watch anything but Cavs and the other good teams as well.
I used to watch college more so than I do now. But that was back when most players stayed a few years if not all 4. With people leaving after one, and the influx of world talent, the NBA has pulled so far away from college in terms of talent now. It's just hard watching the drop off if you're used to watching NBA games.

I think you'll have to lower your expectations. Michigan, UNC, or any other team isn't going to offer you anywhere near the same talent that the Cavs and the other good NBA teams you said you watch do. Even the best college players from last year like Lonzo, Josh Jackson, Fultz are underwhelming in the NBA so far, and that's okay.

There are pros and cons for each. I've always like the atmosphere in college better. It's too bad you didn't catch Duke - IU last night. Assembly Hall is always a crazy place to play.

I’ll make a conscious effort to tune in more. Last time I followed college religiously, Michael Redd and Scoonie Penn were at OSU. So it’s been awhile.

Yeah, atmosphere is a huge thing for me (and why I hate that Ohio State plays in a giant mausoleum). You just get crazy crowd being loud as hell when you have a good match-up (or most any conference rivalry), which blows away the NBA's love of loud, constant canned noise for me.

I hate games at the Schott. I went to a few during the Oden year that got pretty loud, but nothing compared to what you see at smaller venues.

I did go once to see a men's game at St. Johns and it was awesome.

Random thought about Kizer and NBA, just cause it made lol pretty hard. Cavs first possession last night was a Kevin Love airball from 11 feet. That was followed by a brick that went over the backboard by Atlanta. Finally later that half, Korver hit the side of the backboard from 3

I turned it on midway through the first half when MSU was already up by 20 and thought "well that was lousy advice"

I guess if there's one silver lining in the last week for Ohio State and their amazing ability to blow leads at any time, it's that with a couple exceptions, the B1G looks pretty poor this year, so if they can at least do decent with their two early conference games Saturday and Monday, they might be able to be a middle of the pack team. So far, being a middle of the pack team looks like a probable NIT berth, but sadly, that'd be better than last year.
