Well, Defuance won another game...73-53 vs OG Titans. I heard they have a well rounded group of kids, which is great! Lets keep it going Defiance Bulldogs!!

It's pathetic how few Northwest Ohio people are on here.

Come on guys & gals...give us some of ur feedback!!
Re: Elida, I know many consider Reggie McAdams one of the top players in the league and area. Can anyone find stats for him? For example, he's known to be a great 3-point shooter, but in the 5 games I know about, he's 8-for-34 from behind the arc, but obviously there are many more games than that. I'm sure he's better than 23%. He's 6-5 and a soph. so plenty of potential.

Didn't see the game last night but McAdams had 27 points last night of his team's total of 40 (46-40 loss to St. Francis). He made five 3-point goals but have no idea how many he took. He's a streaky shooter and I'm sure his overall season percentage is better than 23%. Candidly, he's not that hard to guard (even though he's 6-5) because he doesn't handle the ball that well and is not all that quick off the ball. If he can fix some of those things he could be awfully tough and a good college prospect.

Anybody from Defiance, is Anthony Kidston still injured? I don't see his name in box scores yet. Seems like to win the WBL and make a tourney run his involvement might be important.

Per someone in the know; "he fractured his ankle. I think he's supposed to have another x-ray on Monday or Tuesday to see how it's healing. He did dress last night, but didn't play. He walks with a limp but says that it feels better than it did "

I was told both Kidston and Moore, who was hurt in the Wapak game on Friday, warmed up before the Wauseon game Saturday but did not play.
WBL teams fared poorly Saturday night in general (against some tough opposition, though), but have been doing quite well so far in non-league games this season.

I dont know about how tough those OOC teams we have faced but Defiance has faced some decent ones except for Lima Senior, they have fared well.

Lets get some talkers in here so that we can discuss what the leagues chances are in the tourney!
Some thoughts:
Kind of weird seeing Defiance and Bath up there.
Hard to tell how good Shawnee can really be because it has had major issues with injuries.
St. Marys and Wapak already had more wins than all of last year after the first two weeks of the season, I believe. I wonder if if all teams will be able to win more than 5 games overall this year...
So far, I'd say Defiance, Bath, Van Wert, St. Marys, and Wapak are all better than last year. Elida SHOULD be, since it only lost one player from last year, but it has a tough schedule. So it's hard to tell exactly, but I would say it probably is better than last year. Actually, Elida was only a little over .500 heading into the tournament last year so you could probably say that Elida is definitely better than last year. Celina is to be determined. I get the impression that O-G isn't as good as last year, even though the record might be about the same as the same point in last year's season. Shawnee definitely isn't, but could probably be pretty close to last year if it was at full strength. Kenton might be the only team that is definitely not as good as last year. Kenton has 5 wins already but I have a suspicion that those are against some pretty weak teams. Still, it's better than nothing - Kenton has had a couple really bad teams in the last decade.

Teddy, what do you think is the reason for Defiance's run so far and why do you think no team will win more than 5 league games?

I assume they just worked hard in the off season, with a couple new solid additions from the JV or transfer. I think they still should rebound a lot better than they have been, but I think the post players greatly improved their shooting ability and touch on the close shots. Last year, Keel was the only consistent offensive threat. The defense has always been there the last few years, for the most part.
And, I said I wonder if all teams will win more than 5 overall games this year, not win less than 5 league games. Last year, Wapak was 0-21, and St. Marys' only win was against Wapak. There might have been another team that also won 5 games or less as well. Overall records this year have been much improved.
