Yeah it would be something like "Who cares anyone can win at Talladega its all luck..." Oh well if he keep running solid I am ok with him not winning... at the same time though he needs a win BAD and there is no better place for him than Dega.

Did you see he is going to run the Wrangler #3 Nationwide car at Daytona in July? Be pretty awesome to see the 3 again!

Jr. is doing well this year. you don't have to win, just be consistent. that's his main downfall.

how the fuck does it makes sense for penske to have Mobil 1 as the sposor of his entire operation including the primary on 1 of his cars and have shell pennzoil as another primary?

or is he losing Mobil 1?

what about verizon?

i wish they'd just can hornish and let allgaier come up and race already.

You're just setting it up..cause you know that will be the case if he does manage to win! B/c it's the TRUTH! LOL

Nothing has been said..but I'd imagine Mobil 1 will be going elsewhere. Maybe they will be dropping the 77 car altogether and Hornish will jump into the 12. I wasn't a big Hornish fan, but he's starting to pull together some good runs. Hasn't had solid finishes, but he's ran up towards the front a lot lately. I'm ready for Allgaier too, but I don't think they should rush it. Give him time in the NW car for a few years then let him come up to Cup. Get some seat time on some of the tracks before they let him play with the big boys and ruin his confidence.

Alabama is getting FUCKED UP today. Not surprising.

Severe weather potential is ungodly high there today, huge outbreak. There's already been some nasty tornadoes today in Mississippi.

coyotes...About 10 years ago, Mark Martin built a quarter midget track in the New Smyrna infield so Matt could race on Wed. nite without them having to go to Orlando. This track is only 10 minutes from Martin's house. They had a huge grand opening, with live ESPN tv 'RPM Tonight'. Mark called in favors from over a dozen of his friends, and ALL the good guys in Nascar showed up for 2 hour autograph sessions. Dale Jr. landed in the infield in the Bud chopper. We all watched a space shuttle launch, all the fans were thrilled with all the top 20 drivers pics and autographs. After the tv stuff was over, and the kids were racing, half of the fans left. It was a busy weeknight, so it was expected. All the drivers went into the kids pit area and signed for every kid racing. Uniforms, helmets, quarter midgets, they signed everything for the kids. Then Tony went into Andretti's bus and changed clothes, came out and raced a couple of times with the kids. Yes he squeezed into a quarter midget !
He used to be approachable at Volusia too, but the more famous he got the more hassle. He raced a mod on the dirt under the name 'Smoke Johnson'.
He bought Eldora Speedway from Earl Baltes and works hard to keep it the best dirt track in the world.
There may not be as many good stories about him as bad, but I don't think he is a piece of shit. I like and respect the fact that he is bold enough to say things other guys won't about Nascar, Goodyear, or any topic.

Wendy said Mobil 1 is going to leave Penske.
Dale Jr. was pissed at DW for tweeting about the 3 car coming in July.
Daytona will be dug up, down to the base coquina, and repaved starting the day after the July race.
Matt Kenseth probably spent the whole day yesterday analyzing Packers draft picks.

today's restrictor plate will stay 15/16th
last year's winner of this race, James Finch has put Phoenix Racing up for sale.

Andy Belmont Racing's transporter caught fire on the way home from Talladega on I-85 in Georgia around mile marker 166.. No one was injured. Apparently a tire blew on the tractor, grease from the drive hub caught fire, flames from the hub hit the generator cabinet on the front of the hauler and ignited the diesel fuel from the generator. The truck is a total loss. Trailer is destroyed. Fire company contained the trailer fire to the front of the trailer and the lounge, but all the team uniforms, helmets, hans devices, radios are lost. The fire company saved the cars and everything behind the lounge, certainly there will be smoke and water damage. Belmont fields the #1 driven by Chad McCumbee and the #14 piloted by Chase Mattioli [grandson of Pocono Raceway owners]. Mattioli finished 13th at Talladega and McCumbee finished 33rd.

Harvick beats McMurray at the line on the 3rd GWC of the race.

It made for a great ending, but the 3 GWC is stupid as hell. It forced a race in which fuel should not have been an issue into a fuel mileage race. I have no problem if the pit window itself would have forced it into a fuel thing because that is just how it goes, but because of running a ton extra? That's dumb. Biffle ran out to cause the wreck on the second attempt.

I thought one GWC was fine (where they would red flag them then run the 2 laps) because it didn't completely alter race strategy. They ran damn near 10 extra laps with 3x GWC and the caution laps in between. That's an extra 25-30 miles because of Talladega's size.

Of note, Jeff Gordon said Jimmie Johnson is "testing his patience", and Gordon said he "was pissed" in his post race interview. Could get interesting at Hendrick.
Second week in a row Gordon had the faster car and Johnson was racing him hard (and this is mid-race, not at the end, and at Talladega where there's no point to race hard in the middle of the race). Seems more like Johnson is being a dumbass more than Gordon whining

Speed,,, I was trying to be funny. I made my comment in rebutle to quiks comment about Jr, and based on what he said last week about Tony.

I actually like Stewart and he is one of my favorite drivers. Stewart, Jr, and Harvick are about the three i like the most. In fact, That would be an awesome team!!!

Sorry if I offended you, just was trying to be goofy, thats all. I dont really feel that way!!! :D

Can't blame Johnson for racing..I hate him as much as the next guy. But come on..this is NASCAR. It IS racing. I'm sick of watching them just hang around for 75% of the race. I liked the fact he was racing Gordon so early. Gordon's just doing what he does best...whining like always. If he doesn't want to race...stay the hell home.

As for the GWC..it's part of the racing they are gonna have to get used to. It alters the strategy needed to win the race. If you are short on fuel..your ass better get in the pits just in case. If you don't, and you run out of fuel, it's nobody's fault but your own. It's just OT. Nothing wrong with it, just gives the fans a chance to see a green flag ending. Fans bitch when the race ends under caution, then they bitch when they get what they want. Can't please everyone.

Thankfully, it benefited the blue deuce today. :p He was like 25th with 4 laps to go..then when all the wrecking was over...he finished 8th. So, after being caught up in the wreck, a penalty in the pits, he STILL finished ahead of Junior. :p I thought Junior was the car to beat after Burton wrecked, can't believe he disappeared like that at the end.

coyotes, I forgot about quik. now I see, was not offended at all though. But I wasted a cool story for nothing !
WTF happened to Jr ? He went from top 5 to 13th. Harvick was perfect in the last pass. At those speeds the turbulence is bad enough all he had to do was make that move in the tri oval and Jamie got loose.

Man that was some good action just now in the pits under green in the Nationwide race. 23 to go
