McCain: Trump 'often poorly informed' and 'impulsive,' and Congress doesn't 'answer to' him

And whose fault is that McCain?

His Op-ED

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/john-mccain-its-time-congress-returns-to-regular-order/2017/08/31/f62a3e0c-8cfb-11e7-8df5-c2e5cf46c1e2_story.html?utm_term=.a4cfe15d74af

"We must respect his authority and constitutional responsibilities. We must, where we can, cooperate with him. But we are not his subordinates. We don’t answer to him. We answer to the American people. We must be diligent in discharging our responsibility to serve as a check on his power. And we should value our identity as members of Congress more than our partisan affiliation."

Great, glad to see someone is starting to show a little backbone.

McCain has always stood up to both party's, not just the democrats. He just doesn't have a nervous breakdown over everything that Trump says or does like Schumer does or the average college-aged kid or anybody at CNN.

lol, what a sack of shit: https://thinkprogress.org/white-house-walks-back-trumps-promise-to-give-1-million-of-his-personal-money-to-harvey-victims-4691cf5e6dd6/

And even if Trump does donate $1 million of personal wealth, his contribution represents a pittance in relation to the drastic cuts he’s proposing in environmental and disaster relief programs.
Those cuts, which will be considered this month as Congress tries to set a budget, include an $876 million cut in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s disaster relief account, a $200 million cut to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration programs that help coastal states brace for future storms, and a $2.6 billion cut to the Environmental Protection Agency, among others.

Yep. The states already each have their own EPA (and related organizations, as does the federal govt). Do we really need THOUSANDS of federal EPA workers? I'd guess not.

We'll give you some time to copy/paste someone's dissenting opinion.

Here is Paul Ryan in January of THIS YEAR telling a DACA-benefiting mother that she won't be separated from her child. This was only 8 months ago.
http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/01/13/paul-ryan-town-hall-deportation-sot.cnn

Then this:
https://thinkprogress.org/paul-ryan-praises-trump-for-repealing-daca-four-days-after-urging-him-not-to-repeal-it-8765bc447614/

“However well-intentioned, President Obama’s DACA program was a clear abuse of executive authority, an attempt to create law out of thin air,” Ryan said in a statement following the DACA announcement made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions Tuesday. “Congress writes laws, not the president, and ending this program fulfills a promise that President Trump made to restore the proper role of the executive and legislative branches.”

But last Friday, in an interview with a hometown radio station, Ryan said he favored keeping DACA in place.

“I actually don’t think he should do that,” Ryan said when asked about Trump’s proposal to end the program. “I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix.”

In the interview, Ryan said that Obama did not have the legislative authority enact DACA (notably, DACA is not unconstitutional), but that, despite this, ending DACA would leave hundreds of thousands of people “in limbo.”

Umm, what the fuck?

Then I saw this 'gem'

What in the fuck? This is embarrassing and troubling on many levels. Let's take your opinion on the legislation out of it, Paul Ryan is a lying shithead, and Trump is a moron who doesn't know anything about anything and is making important decisions.

LOL at the freak out over the reversal of DACA. Trump has signaled that he would likely sign legislation giving these people permanent legal status codified by law if the gutless congress will act. I personally like the idea of the idea of if the congress acts I will execute rather than if the congress does not act I will execute.

The legislative branch passes laws. The executive branch is afforded a veto. The legislative branch an override. If passed in either form the executive branch executes those laws. And that all depends on the 9 gods at the head of the judicial branch that have grasped authority to lord over them both. All three coequel branches have a duty to resist an unconstitutional act of any member of the other branches. That said only the legislative branch holds the power to remove members of the other branches from power.

LOL - sounds like a fake synopsis.

This version is probably more accurate - that he referred them to another state agency to coordinate the delivery of supplies, in addition to asking for their prayers:

^^^with the mass hysteria associated with Trump derangement syndrome in full swing, those affected seize on the smallest bit of news, spun to perfection by click bait media, to reinforce their delusion.

DACA was an end run around Congress, who have the constitutional duty to pass immigration law. Trump merely kicked it back to Congress who now have the responsibility to pass immigration law properly. that will require the democrats to stop their blatant obstruction for political purposes, and conservative republicans to compromise. Considering the dysfunction in Washington, Trump indeed may have to "revisit" this in 6 months.

What has been missed by most people, is that the President has clearly put the onus on the lawmakers where it properly belongs. The problem is that at least half this country is so constitutionally ignorant, that they fail to see that he has returned the power to the people. Millenials, those under 30 years of age, for the past 8 years, have grown up politically thinking that the President is a "king"...ironically Trump is the one they call a facist.
