Ty Blach, it was pointed out by Manning, does something that is very rare when it comes to batting.

What is it?

BTW, he's no slouch at the plate batting .200 on 5 for 25 before being rung up by Clevinger and the first base ump on the check swing.

And as I type this, Guyer hits a triple to give us a 1-0 lead.

Throws left, bats right, wears elbow pad.
That's all I have. Go Rick!

Con_Alma and Gardens35 get the "ding ding" correct!

BTW, the only non-pitchers that I know of who did that were Cleon Jones and Ricky Henderson.

On a side note........that's also what BRF did back in the day.

Rick might just slip into the SF booth and surprise Kuiper with a hand job.

Lots of players do this...

Mark Mulder
Ryan Ludwick
Yaz
George Brett

Or do you mean specifically batting left throwing right?

Just the opposite.

Batting right and throwing left.

Now try naming some that I didn't list.

I know 1, who I said before, Ryan Ludwick. Because I remember him sucking for Tribe lol.

Doesn't Travis Wood (former Red) do that as well?

Actually, I feel quite a few pitchers do it. Does Lester? Anyway, can't think of anyone but Ludwick for field players.

Edit: Jon Lester does not do this. But former Tribe backend starter Terry Mullholland did! ok, this game is too close. I'm done searching the caverns of my brain for Tribe lefties of yesteryear for tonight.

I don't know why, but that's as frustrated as I've been at a game all season.

Ho hum, the most boring, uninspiring team in baseball continuing to tread water. They need to do something to shake things up. This team has absolutely no energy/fire.

In other news clevinger was lights out again. I'm really glad to see him putting it all together. His era is now down to 2.73 for the season.

Me too. In fact the whole week since the All Star break has been terribly frustrating. We should be putting away these teams and locking up the division. Instead, we are wasting great pitching and pissing away games... all the while the AL east powers NYY and the BoSox are lurking in August.

Which will be part of the problem should the Tribe want to be buyers before the trade deadline. Both of these teams will likely go all in and will get the best available players. Couple that with the fact Detroit may have a fire sale and the Tribe/Tigers are not very likely to do business, so they'll miss out on those players.

I would say after the Encarnacion signing & Miller trade (last year) the Tribe should go all in but I just don't see this team as championship caliber (this year). They have the players to do it but something's missing here.

The big question about the Trjbe going ""all in" is who are you going to replace? Pitching has not been the problem as much as the offense. IMO we have the personnel, they are just not playing up to potential.

Thats probably what it is. Losing to teams 20 games below .500 finally caught up to me last night. Kipnis and Chiz need to get healthy fast.

All that have to do is get healthy and get in the playoffs. It's all about getting hot at the right time. I'm not too worried yet. Injuries have been a huge problem. Once we can get healthy and have a set rotation and a set order I think wins will start piling up

Apparently we went after JD Martinez. Not sure what Tigers asked for, but we didn't offer McKenzie or Meija, so I'm happy. 1 because we went after a huge bat and with the OF injuries in RF, it fit a need and 2 because we offered up guys who won't ever play for the strobe during the contending few yrs coming up (Lindor and J-Ram backups, it sounds like)
