Ingram has to be the frontrunner but there is a good % chance that he won't win it next season.
I agree with that since it's only been done once in history but I think that Ingram's chances are better than past returning Heisman winners. Call me crazy but I think his position (RB) helps him. Also, a lot of the marquee players from this season will be gone.
Yes but there is a group of RB's that will be getting a ton of press going into next season. All in the same class and all play in conferences where they could put up big numbers.
Lewis from Pitt
Williams from VaTech
James from Oregon
Now I am not saying those guys will be in the Heisman hunt, but they could easily put up great numbers and their teams put up a good BCS bid record.
Wasn't Dion Lewis a Freshman this season?
Anyways, can't say that I disagree with your logic. I just like his odds better being a RB rather than a QB. I mean, the only two-time Heisman winner in history was a RB.
As was Williams and James. All three are Freshman heading into their SO seasons on teams that will be good in conferences where they can put up big numbers.
Hell Williams already has broken numerous rushing records this season as a freshman.
Also, the last three Heisman winners have been Soph's.
