Bauer was fine until he got around the 100 pitch mark. Franco may just have to be cautious with pitching him that deep. They don't have the luxury of moving him to the bull pen right now.

I kind of think he will wind up in the pen as well, but today is a bad time to make that argument. 6IP, 2ER (by him, 1 inherited scored), 7Ks and ZERO walks. That's fantastic pitching from a #5.vball10set;1852889 wrote:hope so too...Bauer pitched well two times through, then imploded--sorry, he's bullpen material...period.

Reps when I can. Apparently I haven't repped since last year because you are locked at the moment.iclfan2;1852909 wrote:Winner

IMO it only reinforces he's better suited for long relief, especially the way he went from throwing so well and locating pitches early on, to hanging everything he threw and losing his effectivenss so quickly. I'm not sure if it's a conditioning thing or if he just loses focus, but either way, he's good for two times through the lineup, and that's it.Laley23;1852905 wrote:I kind of think he will wind up in the pen as well, but today is a bad time to make that argument. 6IP, 2ER (by him, 1 inherited scored), 7Ks and ZERO walks. It's him needing to find consistency. Last start he got roughed up early and then finished 6 innings and threw 125 pitches. This start he is brilliant early and then ran into trouble late but still a nice outing. I don't know that Tito brings him out for the 7th if it wasn't 8-2.vball10set;1852972 wrote:IMO it only reinforces he's better suited for long relief, especially the way he went from throwing so well and locating pitches early on, to hanging everything he threw and losing his effectivenss so quickly. Need a new series post up. No lefties this series, so let's take 2 outta 3. Santana in the 4 spot tonight, EE to 5.

Why do our pitchers have such an aversion to pitching with a lead? I just don't get it...
