For about 2 years he was hacking away at everything. Recently, he has started to walk a lot more. He is finally seeing the ball better or showing patience...either way, it's great to see. I asked when we should legit be excited that Gomes may be a lot closer to 2014 Silver Slugger than last 2 seasons. You said now, pretty emphatically, implying you think he is back. Over his last 14 games spanning nearly 3 and a half weeks (hasn't played every day), he is hitting .378 with a .478 On base %.
He's raised his average from .067 to .239 in that span and his OBP from .152 to .346. Pretty cool. Stay hot, Yan.
