How many OC individual go to Church?
Those that do go to Church how involved are you?
I go every Sunday (serve in different aspect within the Church), attend Men Group Thurday Morning and Community Group once a month and hopefully start a mission.

I have not been to church since my Grandpa passed. He was the only reason I went. Not a religious person and believe churches should pay taxes.

I suppose I would be considered a heathen. I have nothing against the church, it's just not for me.

I go about once every month, my wife about twice a month. My son goes when he doesn't have a DH baseball game.

For about a decade during my childhood/teenager I probably didn't miss 10 Sundays for a decade.

Baptized in 1986....pretty much stopped going in 1992. Was asked to be on church softball team in early 2000s but was kicked off by league commish for not being a regular attendee. Lol who knew.

I don't think it did last year when Belly created it. Or the year before, etc.

All childhood I attended: Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, and any other extra events that my parents dragged me to. I had my fill for 10 lifetimes.

Used to go from middle school through college. Majored in Bible/Theology: Pre-Seminary.

Do not agree with the current structure and choose not to go. Was part of a house church for over a year but had to move. Loved it. Wish there was more of it around.

I go to church weekly. I find it helps me stay grounded when I connect to my Christian morality and spiritualty. I helps me stay "grateful" and appreciative. It makes me reflect on the past week, and puts me in a positive spin for the next.

Haven't been with anything resembling regularity since I was a kid and my parent's made me get confirmed into a church. Too much living to do, too little time to waste on meaningless activities, since I have to waste too much already on work in order to get the $$$ to do that living.

Go every Sunday. Lead our community group every Wednesday night, wife sings, I do sound, both teach the 3-5 class. I fully believe and try to live out the gospel every day.

I think this is a good attitude to have and why I liked going when I did. I could care less about the bible readings, scripture, etc. But it did help me stay positive and the congregation was a good group of people to be around.

I would like to go every week but probably go 3 weekends a month. I'm in a small group with some guys and also lead the counting (offering) team at my church. Would like to be more involved but don't have time at the moment.

I retired from church right before I was supposed to start proceedings leading up to confirmation. The only time I go now is if it's for a wedding ceremony.

It's very interesting to read other's takes on church attendance.

I am in the "not attending very often" category.

No offense, but this is an "excuse" that always cracks me up about any church goer. There is ALWAYS time. Unless your time is committed to countless things, there is always time. It's the willingness to commit the time that you don't want to do.

Purely Hypothetical: If I asked you to be on my softball/basketball/canasta/whatever team, and you had an interest in that sport, but we'd play two nights per week, lasting 2+ hours... you'd probably do it. It's all about interest, and most church goers don't have the interest in committing their time more than Sunday morning, and that commitment is usually fickle at best.

Might not be you. Might be you. My post is directed at anyone and everyone, not just you.

Oh I agree, it's usually an easy copout for why someone doesn't do whatever, not even specifically about church (could be church, working out, seeing friends, etc.). I know it wasn't just towards me but in my case though it's actually true unfortunately because my Dad has terminal cancer and needs someone with him all the time, so that takes up an exhausting amount of time as you could imagine (plus work and a girlfriend). Once this is all over I'll easily have the time to do the volunteering activity I want to do (doing work on donated cars to give to people in need), and also will have free time again, lol.

No.

I think that your post is pretty judgmental.
