Glasnow finally looked major league ready! Which is good because he's too good for the minors, but hasn't figured it out in the bigs, which is kinda awkward.

Afternoon game underway an hour late, Pirates get no runs after getting 2 on after 1st two made outs. Hopefully Reds can get to Nova early.

Cervelli worn out scoring from 1st on a Gift(Ngoepe) double into the RCF gap to give the Pirates the lead.

Peraza easily scores from first on a beautiful hit and run gap shot by Votto to LCF which was cut off before it got to the warning track. Votto scores on a near double by Duvall who slid safely into 2B but couldn't hold the bag and was tagged out. If he could have held the bag he would have scored on the double that followed by Schebler. Schebler has to stop at 3rd on a single to left by Alcantara. Alcantara steals 2nd, but Barnhart grounds out for the 3rd out. 2-1 Reds, would have been at least 4-1 without the overslide tag out of Duvall.

Pittsburgh is to stringing together hits and doing work with guys in scoring position what QQ and Sleeper are to reasonable and non-hyperbolic political discussion. Just not happening.

The window of weather worked out just right as the rain started picking up in the 9th as the Reds win 4-2 to take the series 3-1 and get back to .500. Can they get 3 games in against the Giants and win 2 to get above .500 to end the week?
