I think Chick-fil-A is super overrated. I like chicken to be crispy, and theirs is not. I do realize I am in the minority here.

Popeyes and KFC are my faves, but I must admit that I have never had Church's, Bojangles' or Zaxby's. I like Cane's, but I only have it like once every other year because there are none near me.

Popeye's and Bojangles for sure are tops for me. Canes would be next in line. Sometimes it's not that great. Maybe it's the store we go to, maybe it's just a bad batch...I don't know.

I really wish Bojangles would make its way up here. Then again, I would get super fat from eating it all the time.

KFC is gross. I used I like it, but I would rather get fried chicken from the Meijer or Kroger deli area.

Zaxby's is so good I've only had it because I moved down south. Don't think I would have ever tried it otherwise. I've only had Canes 5 times or so but it's amazing.

Just do it next time you go! The tenders are the best. People down here love their fries but I think they are kinda meh. Always love getting the texas toast though! They also have good sides. Spicy fried mushrooms and wisconsin cheddar bites are my go to. But the best thing from Zaxby's is the milkshakes.

I steer clear of these places because of the carbs, but when I do partake....Bojangles is the winner.

But you have to go south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Hate any fast food type places and chicken is something i almost have to really want chicken. Not a big chicken fan...
I like my chicken fried and crisp but not dry ...... grandma made the best ....

Pizza Oven has a good bucket of deep fried chicken ..

To me they are all ok but none are great or must have'd. All of these are rare choices when we eat out.

KFC scares me what the ingredients actually are.
Zaxby's is way too fried grease flour. Never again.
Haven't had Bojangles in 25 years.
Need to try Popeyes.
Every Church's I've ever seen is not in the best neighborhood.

As for the fast food chicken competition, Church's comes in runner-up with KFC a distant 3rd. Popeye's win by a domination.

Raising Canes tops the list for me, and it's not even really close.

It's a southern thing. We did find one in Kentucky on the way back from Gatlinburg though. I would love for it to come north, but I doubt it ever will.

Canes is average. It's the dipping sauces that make it good...not the chicken itself.

Chik-Fil-A and Popeye's are the best, IMO.

My rankings have changed after moving to NC 5 years ago and very similar to Laley23's ranking!

1. Chick-fil-A
2. Zaxbys
3. Bojangles
4. PDQ
5. Popeye's
6. KFC

I have not tried Raising Cane's yet, so need to check them out.
