For me the 5 I probably listened to the most in MS/HS were
Eminem - Slim Shaddy LP/The Marshall Mathers LP
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Sum 41 - All Killer No Filler
Blink 182 - Enema of the State/Take Off Your Pants and Jacket
311 - The Blue Album (This one was more because an upper classman on the CC team loved them and he listened to it all the time)
Laley and Fab's lists are also some other stuff I listened to. I also owned the NOW CDs from like 1-20 then I started to just download like everyone else.

Jr High and High School:
AC/DC - Back in Black
Led Zeppelin IV
Boston - Boston
The Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks
J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame
College:
Nirvana: Nevermind (came out my sophomore year)
The Beatles: White Album
The Beatles: Rubber Soul
Guns N' Roses: Use Your Illusion 1&2 (I actually stood in line to buy these the day they came out)
Cat Stevens: Greatest Hits
The frat bros were not in approval of the Beatles, and certainly not Cat Stevens, so those were more on the down low. My enjoyment of Enya's music was kept quiet too. If I saw the bros today, I would not give one iota of care to their opinions of my musical tastes. Funny how that changes over life.
At 20, you care what everyone thinks about you
At 40, you don't care what anyone thinks about you
At 60, you realize that no one was ever thinking about you in the first place.

I grew up with a couple of sisters who got me into Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Who, Mott the Hoople, etc but as I started developing my own tastes I graduated to:
Kiss- Alive II
then
Ozzy- Blizzard of Ozz
then
Metallica- Master of Puppets
Slayer- Reign in Blood
then
Panera-Cowboys from Hell
then
Type O Negative- Bloody Kisses/October Rust
There was no set period in my life where I had a bunch of favorites. Kind of morphed into what my musical tastes are today.

Damn near identical to albums I'm thinking of. Also would add:Laley23;1841803 wrote:Kanye West - College Dropout
Jay Z - The Blueprint
Matchbox 20 - Yourself or Someone Like You
N'Sync - No Strings Attached
Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again.
Usher - Confessions
When I think of the albums/songs everyone was talking about in Middle School and High School, it's these. Couldn't limit to 5. These 6 were crazy popular in my area.
Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl
Backstreet Boys - Millennium

Radiohhead- Ok Computer
Metallica-Black Album
At the Drive In - Relationship of Command
Weezer-Blue Album
Pearl Jam -10
I'd say these 5 shaped my musical taste. These would range from when i was 11 to 19 years old.
My parents were big into music so I obviously heard/listened to all their records as well..My dad was big into Sabbath, Rush, ACDC, Zepp. My mom loved Journey and Bon Jovi.
First album I ever bought with my own money... Ice Cube Predator haha, not sure why my mom let me get that.
