How long did you smoke... When did you start.... when did you quit?

i started smoking around the age of 10 stealing my mom cigarettes, at the age of 14 I just would buy my own. Started with Camel and the moved to Winston... In Nam it was Lucks
i smoked about 1/2 pack per day. I stopped smoking at the age of 25 years old that the same age I gave up drugs haven't had a cigarette or a joint since.

im looking into medical marijuana....

Marijuana- Only a handful of times. Last time was in college 13 years ago

I tried a couple of cigarettes one day when I was 17 and bored, house-sitting for someone. Didn't like the way my throat burned afterward. Never smoked those again

A friend and I smoked cigars one day for a lark, I was in my early 20's. Even worse burning (and taste) than the cigarettes, although you do look like a Mississippi riverboat gambler for a few minutes. Well, that was our story. First and last time.

I did sneak in a few puffs from a joint about 3 or 4 times when I was 17 or 18. Again, got nothing but a burned throat. Never again.

My dad smoked cigarettes from my earliest memories, then quit them around 1965 and switched to Tiparillos and pipe. I loved the smell of his John Rolfe peach brandy tobacco. I always thought back then I'd like to try a pipe, but every time I picked his up (when he'd let me), it was too hot for me to hold.

Dad smoked from his teens until 1973 when he turned 40, then he quit cold turkey and never went back. He's still around today and in relatively good health for 83, so I'm glad for that.

Oh well. Glad I never got into it. I have enough vices and bad habits without smoking compounding the trouble.

From about 18-25 I smoked about a half pack per day. I'm 35 now and smoke a few when I drink but that's it....if I buy a "drinking pack" it last for months. They just go hand-in-hand for me, the only time I get the urge.

I never smoked a lot of pot. Maybe once every couple of weeks in college. In the last 15 years I can count on one hand the times I've "hit" a joint (and it was only a hit or two and usually I was intoxicated).

Mom and Dad smoked a lot when I was young. My grandma was watching me at age 7 and made me sign a sheet of notebook paper say that I would never smoke. She passed away just a few months ago and I wish we could find that piece of paper that I know she kept.

Smoked pot in college, but haven't touched it since then. Not worth losing a career over.

It doesn't bother me when/if people smoke. I actually like the smell of cigars and pipes.

I've never really been big on cigarettes, though I smoked a bit in college but usually only while drinking. It's been many years since I've touched a cigarette. I got a nifty pipe for a groomsman gift a couple years ago but I haven't used it very much. I'll end up buying some tobacco this spring and start using it.

As for cannabis, I've partaken in the past.

I'm a former smoker and nowadays I can't stand to be near someone, in like a doctor's office waiting room, that reeks of smoke.

Probably a handful of times in college and less so since then. I do enjoy a cigar, but probably averages out to less than one a year.

Used to smoke cigars, when I was out at the bar, but it's been years.

Used to smoke a shit-ton of weed in college...as well as pretty consistent party smoking while drinking. Haven't done either in a really long time.

I've never smoked cigarettes or weed.

I enjoy a good cigar or a smoke from one of my pipes, but that's all the smoking I've really ever done.

I did chew tobacco for about ten years, though.
