The lane that goes back is pretty rough but would be an easy fix with some gravel. I think since he is getting up in age and all his kids have moved away he has lost interest in having a getaway type place.

My trip starts tomorrow, sort of. I have a quick stopover in Chicago, but I'll be in Minnesota on Sunday and in the wilderness on Monday morning through Saturday morning.

I'll post some photos from the trip throughout the day. This was the campsite I stayed at for the first 3 nights in the wilderness.

Where did you set up your tent? Doesn't look like a lot of open area, and the open area is on a hill. Or is there more not pictured?

There is a row of trees kinda blocking your view of the campsite. I also use a hammock.

This was my living area on that campsite.

This was the view of the lake from the landing point of the campsite. It has a nice stone landing that you can lay on and enjoy the view.

Ah I see, that's pretty nice! Always been interested in a hammock tent, what are your thoughts? I assume you can tighten yours so it lays flatter? The way it looks now, I couldn't last a nap in that without a sore back!

What you're seeing is the bug net surrounding the hammock. It hangs at a completely different angle than the actual hammock. I prefer the hammock to a tent, but I know some people hate them.

This is a better representation of how the hammock hangs. This was from the second campsite, before I put the bug net on. What you're seeing is the underquilt that wraps around the hammock for insulation, the hammock is inside of it.

No man should ever question another man about pitching his tent. (kidding)

Justin I gotta ask.....did you bring electrical devices with you? Those black cubes on the table look similar to speakers.

I had my phone and kindle. The phone was mostly for photos, but I did check in with my wife each day and posted a couple pictures on facebook and twitter.

Here's a video from my campsite. A couple rabbits started playing around, and then a small squirrel came by and chased them off.

I did fish. I caught nothing. I won't be fishing on future solo trips.
