Which "similar countries"? Are you using more incidents without taking into account relative population?

So if gun legislation isn't the answer, what is the answer? I see people cite crime statistics with and without gun legislation, but I never see an opinion offered to what they think is the answer. Is there no answer? We just live with it? Don't do anything about it? Is that the answer?

I do appreciate that one since 2 of the most recent ones happened in churches. Praying wasn't the answer there I guess.

Thanks for your meaningful input. Go defend allah akbar while then making fun of prayers. Didn’t see that shit when Roof killed people in a church, weird.

We might want to consider the opposite approach as always seems to be suggested. Since nearly all, if not all mass killings tend to occur in "gun-free zones"...

The same liberals who defended the Muslims use of allah akbar last week were the ones making fun of Christians this week for sending prayers for a tragedy. Mocking one religion while defending another one is how you get Trump in the first place.

Also, let’s here how you could have stopped any of these attacks other than repealing the 2nd amendment. Bc that isn’t happening.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy and why the middle of America voted for the dipshit that is Trump. I don’t “send prayers” on twitter bc I think it’s weird, but mocking religion isn’t going to gain you any votes.

Good thing I'm not running for office though. I prefer to mock all religion.

As for how to prevent these events? I don't know the answer, but "thoughts and prayers" don't to shit.

For this specific event, I'd start with why the Air Force failed to relay his criminal past and from what I've read earlier today...they are investigating.

Since data shows that banning certain guns doesn't do anything (actually gun crime increased as Dr. Boogie keeps ignoring), I suggested a couple posts up to end the war on drugs. The majority of gun deaths are gang related or suicide related. That would be a solid step, before passing laws on millions of law abiding citizens minding their own business, because .000014% of mass shooters used AR-15s.

Suicide is a mental health issue. Figure out the magic potion to solve that issue and we will see a severe drop in gun crime (with ending a reason for gang related crime).

I am not religious either, and I find it funny when liberals mock every religion, but go out of their way to defend Islam. I am glad you allegedly mock all religion though.

With that being said, I don't think anyone has suggested that "thoughts and prayers" fixes any issues related to gun crime. Attacking people for sending their condolences is the most ridiculous shit. That will bring people together!

I think you were talking about how a lot of gun violence could be traceable to the war on drugs, and that by stopping that "war", gun violence would greatly decrease. I agree with you there wholeheartedly. But what I'm asking for the cause(s) of are these large scale mass shootings. Those aren't attributable to the war on drugs. So what is causing them? The only basis of comparison we have is other countries. In terms of other western, first world countries, they are not having mass shootings with 10, 20 or 50 victims at the frequency we are. In a small country, one event could skew the averages. But I just know from living during these times, these large scale events are not as frequent elsewhere. Assuming we are not willing to simply tolerate them, how do you reduce them?

I just find it funny that most conservatives are quick to offer thoughts and prayers (this is based on my social media feeds) but once someone brings up addressing gun legislation, they get all "zomg don't take muh gunz!"

And fwiw, I'm a pro gun.

As far as liberals defending Islam? I'm not sure what you're talking about. I must have missed that post/thread.

Maybe because guns are not the problem.

The bolded is factually incorrect.

Also, based on the loose definition of "mass shootings" a lot of those deaths occur during gang related incidents.

The "causes" always stem from the person committing the crime whether it's a gun, bomb, knife, sword, poison, vehicle, etc. The reasons as we have seen vary (hate crime, political, extreme ideology, mental health, and/or a combination of them all).

Again, what do you propose after these "assault" weapons you speak of are banned and gun crime statistics stay relatively the same? Do you realize you realize your essentially punishing millions of people, because of a few pieces of shit? We should've banned flying all together after 9/11.

I actually agree with the bolded. And I think I have mentioned that on here too. But, like I also mentioned, the same people crying about not taking their guns, don't want to subsidize mental healthcare in America too. We quit that years ago. Its not a profitable stand to campaign on, so you won't see either side rally around it. So it's just lip service at this point. "It's a mental health issue...but ill be damned if I pay for it."

I guess I don't see the reason to get your panties in a bunch over people sending their condolences, while also defending their 2nd amendment rights. Do you mock other people for sending their thoughts and/or prayers (thoughts alone don't have a religious attachment to it) when somebody close to them passes away? What else would you like them to say after someone tragically passes?

Just to be clear, I wasn't accusing you of this, but from my experience ( I know others have noticed), and you really don't need to look that far, but liberals tend to get butt hurt when Muslims are criticized or mocked. I can't tell you how many of my friends have gotten butt hurt over me making mild Muslim jokes, meanwhile these same people make jesus and jew jokes all the time and laugh their asses off.
