Forum consolidation is a great idea. Given the amount of activity, you could consolidate into the below:

Politics
Pro Sports
College Sports
HS Sports
OC Hall of Fame

vBookie is so rarely used any more that I don't know why we would even need to keep it. If people would actually post bets/lines in it, I'm sure it would be used more. But no one ever does.

I was actually looking into consolidating forums last night so I am definitely onboard with the idea. I like the list sleeper gave, sans vbookie. I will work on cleaning that up tonight.

No, someone can be assigned a bookie only and not a mod, to what I remember.

The issue is unless that person is loading shit in there daily, people will stop paying attention. I think when he first launched it there were 2 full time bookies with no mod powers. I did it for a while and it is VERY time consuming.

I like sleeper's consolidation idea as well. I would remove vbookie. I was one of the original vbookies with Karen Lotz....I spent a lot of time keeping a variety of threads and many prop type bets. I enjoyed it but little participation for all the spent time....I did enjoy it though.

As for the potential growth...it's doable but also difficult. The 30 of us all know how each other work. I know if I post certain things I'll get drilled....or other things I'd be on my own because no one agrees. If I was a new member trying to fit in I may not last long. For example I kinda glanced through my FB friends to maybe give this place a look....I found 1 person that fits the mold of this site and could be a good add, but could also see him telling one of you guys to fuck off and never return.

Another thing....those that frequent these forums aren't always the most intelligent. I feel this site has mostly pretty sharp people. I'm likely on the bottom half of the intelligence list of this site, but I can blend in and use the correct form of "you're" and I know "a lot" is two words. The other sites I get on and people show their ignorance...I can't take them seriously and don't believe that would last long on here either.

Maybe I'm wrong...I'm wrong all the time but if we can get some new members we should have some sort of welcome thread to kind of give them a tutorial of our ways....and give them a bit before we go after them lol.

Seems to me though we have been holding steady for the last 2-3 years without losing or gaining anyone.
