Yeah I posted that article in the trump thread, but definitely think it deserves its own thread.

The freakin superintendent of Chicago police said they haven't classified it as a hate crime lol I wouldn't mind if they fired him just for that. Torturing a mentally handicapped 18 year old and screaming "fuck white people" and "fuck Donald trump" isn't a hate crime? It's a political hate crime, racial hate crime, and a hate crime against special needs people. Damn that shit pisses me off.

We don't know all the facts yet so let's not jump to conclusions. What we do know is that blacks have been oppressed by whites for 100s of years and maybe these kids needed an outlet to release some frustration from that oppression. It's amazing that white people are so outraged about this but you heard nothing from them when Micheal Brown was ruthlessly KILLED, ACTUALLY KILLED, by a white police officer. These are just dumb kids who made a mistake and hopefully this will start a conversation about race issues in America.

I haven't seen anything valid (ie: police reports, not media) stating they are BLM-affiliated, but yeah. Definitely a hate crime and should be treated as harshly as hate crime laws allow.

Oh I understand. I thought they were too from what I'd heard, but had just recently read an article where it said that CURRENTLY police investigations hadn't found a connection between them and BLM. I've noticed that whenever a story like this comes out (regardless of what combination of white, black, hispanic, middle-eastern, etc. is involved) it's best for my sanity to do whatever I can to to avoid takes for as long as humanly possible. It just winds up seeming like a big contest to who can say the most fucking idiotic thing, while actually being completely sincere in their opinion.
