Who do you think would win?

I think the Buckeyes would win by 2 td's. I think our offense could beat up on UC's defense, and our defense would be the best UC has seen all year.

For the record, I used to cheer for the Bearcats (when they weren't playing OSU) because I'm pro-Ohio. However, after listening to a Cincinnati radio show completely bash the buckeyes, I will never cheer for them again. In fact, I think I hate them now. I never knew Bearcat fans had that type of animosity for the Buckeyes. So. . . take my analysis for what its worth. . . slightly biased. HAHA

I agree with you. Cinci's Defense is no good. They gave up 45 to UCONN. They have shown low scores against better defenses. I think it would be 35-21 range or 28-14. I think OSU would try and run it down their throat and eat up the clock.

Cincy's defense is undersized, and that caused them problems against UConn. UConn mauled them on the ground in the 2nd half and wore them down physically

Because Cincy lost so many defensive starters from last year's team OSU would be the favorite. In the first half of the year I would have given the Bearcats a slight advantage, but time is wearing on their D & OSU's O has seemed to have turned the corner & is improved over the first half of the season.

The Bucks D is dominant & even if Cincy had success early on O it would be tough for them in the second half especially if OSU was running the ball effectively throughout the game.

Would root for Cincy though because of Zach.

Go Bearcats

if a blow out is winning by more than two TD's,then yes--OSU would blow Cinci out..that being said,I'd like Cinci to win out and then win their BCS game-- GO OHIO!!!!

UC would win this year by 10. Ohio State would score, probably, if they had one thing that they did really well on offense they would stand a better shot. Ohio State doesn't have an offensive identity this year which is a problem going up against UC's offense which scores on everyone. OSU does have a good defense, but the strength of it is upfront and UC has a better offensive line than anything the Buckeyes have faced this year. But as always it comes down to match ups. The biggest problem for OSU is this, who covers Mardy Gilyard, Armon Binns and DJ Woods? They can't go man because Torrence and Chekwa can't stay on an island against Binns and Gilyard all night long, if you roll coverage to Gilyard you open things up for Binns on the outside and for DJ in the slot. Last week UConn rolled coverage to Binns and Mardy went off. How does OSU defend those three with the personnel on hand.

What would lead anyone to think that OSU would pound the Cincinnati defense.

I have been really impressed with Cincinnati, however last week wasn't real impressive to me. I think tonight's game will say a lot.

OSU by 2+ TDs.

Cinci Wouldn't score on the Buckeyes defense....I don't care how many points they've put up this year. They haven't faced anything close to what the Buckeyes bring.

Chekwa, Torrence, and Hines

Chekwa could handle Gilyard. Leaving the rest of the secondary to cover the other 2. You underestimate the type of DB's that OSU produces year after year. Look at the past few #1's to come out of OSU

Chekwa is a fine corner, it's the other guys that are the problem in my eyes.

Buckeyes would win by something like 31-20.

Too much speed/depth/talent imo...

I live in Cincinnati and am sick of this argument.

Is UC good this year? Yes
Is OSU average this year? Appears to be average.

Could UC this year beat OSU? Yes.
Could UC beat OSU consistently? No.

Ohio States D would hold Cincy to maybe 10 points.

OSU by 10. Cincinnati just recently became the 2nd best football team in their own town.

Who knows.

UC's offense is great but OSU's defense will keep them in every game against any team. Look at the Purdue game. OSU had 5 turnovers which really compromised the defense by putting Purdue in great field position. Even with how poorly the offense played, the defense kept OSU in it and OSU still only lost by a TD. However, Pike and Collaros would be the best QB's that OSU has seen so far this year.

OSU can be physical on the offensive side of the ball when they want to (like against PSU). UC has less depth and could easily get worn down at the end of the game.

it'd be a fun match up that could go either way.

Doubtful. They gave up 26 to Purdue and 31 to Navy. In no world does the OSU defense hold UC to 10 points.

fwiw, the defense only gave up 20 of the 26 to Purdue. There were two times that OSU turnovers gave Purdue the ball at or inside the OSU 20 and both times the defense held them to 3 and out and a FG.

also, Navy scored 27 against OSU, not 31

Could UC win against OSU this year? Possibly, but i don't think so. UC hasn't faced a defense like the Buckeyes D. I think OSU D-line would destroy UC's o-line and that would really hurt UC's ability to score points. OSU wins 28-10
