What would you like to own that is made of ivory?

I would love to have a scrimshawed pistol (my .45 or a old 1911 Vietnam vintage ) grips.

There was a chess board in my family that was made of ivory and onyx. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I'd love that.

This piece of shit has three items made from ivory: a round bowl w/ lid type item very nicely carved that my wife father who was a Flying Tiger pilot brought back WWII, a broach and a ivory hair set w/ mirror from my wife great grandma...

I know that many of you on the OC believe that question are in real time only and transcends all rule, laws and regulation. Sometimes the question can be assumed by those of a higher IO as "what if's". Hope this helps

Family friend is grandson of a very famous carver from Dover. IMHO the grandson kicks his grandpa's but in talent.

http://warther.org/ the grandson who's museum is located between Sugarcreek and Millersburg and can be found still carving daily there. He is carving the history of the sailing ship. Everything white is ivory, black ebony or scrimshaw.

http://thewarthermuseum.com/ - the grandpa who's museum is in Dover. He carved trains out of ebony and ivory and is reddit famous for their pliers out of a single piece of wood.

Go check out his grandson. He might even take you on a tour if he's not busy.

Thanks.

Also, Ernest was carving his signature pliers. This would have been back in the early 1960's.
