The President has asked his national security team for a full range of options to remove the threat posed by the North Korea regime.

This is stupid. We need to stay away from Korea.

A WALL WE CAN BELIEVE IN

It's going to be really interesting in 2020 to watch Dems criticize Trump not building a wall which everyone agreed was a dumb idea.

Border crossings have already plummeted in the last two months.

Thank you, Donny.

First, two months isn't exactly an adequate period of time to evaluate that sort of thing.

Second, "border crossings" is the sort of thing that is tracked, or documented. So, why celebrate the decrease in documented immigrants from a friendly country?

Third, if this is without the presence of a wall, why is there still interest in building one?

Finally, given the fear of Donald Trump, it seems presumptuous to rule out that people are refraining to immigrate because they believe the country is going to shit.

If "crying on a small message board" equals "defending the republic", then when I "jerk off in the shower", I'm actually "fucking a '10' supermodel".

"Defending the Republic" Amazing. This forum may provide 0 actual engaging political discussion but I can always count on it for a daily dose of lolz. I know each of them can really annoy a lot of people here but I find sleepers troll game and QQ's blind defense of all things R to be hilarious. Keep up the good work and Quaker, thank you for you service.

You missed my point.

I'm not even addressing whether or not fear of Trump is justified. I'm suggesting that he hasn't actively done anything, whatsoever, to actively limit immigration yet. As such, the numbers you're championing could just as well be a reflection of a knee-jerk reaction that softens over time.
QuakerOats;1847393 wrote:Ahh, you confuse defending the republic via your jilted thinking.
Just stop. You resemble a parody at this point.

Indeed he has. Most know now that if they are caught here they will probably be sent packing, so they are not risking it; some even pay $10k to get here ......no longer willing to do it knowing it could be pissed away in months.

Private jail companies are reporting a huge uptick in activity; all illegal immigrant related. Some jails made to house 700, had less than 100, thanks to obama; now they are filling up.

It is pretty apparent that our existing laws are now going to be enforced. It's about time.

Then the wall can handle the balance, including the druggies.

Argument from incredulity.

What did he do to cause this?

And how do you know that "most know now that if they are caught here they will probably be sent packing?" You're claiming a knowledge of the dominant consciousness of a group of people of which you are not one. That seems pretty presumptuous, no?

Well, my goodness. More people in prison is certainly equitable to a more liberty-focused society, right? I mean, how could anyone look at a metric of increased imprisonment (not to mention a system that has been ripe for corporatism for decades) and see anything other than love of liberty?
QuakerOats;1847618 wrote:It is pretty apparent that our existing laws are now going to be enforced. It's about time.
This is an argument from incredulity fallacy.

Is the wall going to be above the normal plane cruising altitude? If not, then the wall is going to be largely worthless.

I actually have to agree with Otrap, here. I saw a Laura Southern video not long ago where she was interviewing people from Mexico or somewhere in South America about what they think about the idea of the US building a wall. One man simply said: "We are good at building tunnels."

As much as I would love to see secure borders, with or without a tangible "wall", what would be the use if people who want to sneak into the US will just dig more tunnels? Will the wall also extend 15-20 feet down into the ground? I hardly think so...

The purpose of the wall is to build a monument to Donald Trump, not to prevent immigration.

Only Republicans are dumb enough to drop $20B+ on a useless wall.

Too bad we can't go back and take $20B out of that $800B stimupork Obama flushed down the toilet.

The $800B at least got us to full employment, recovered the housing market, and got us to record highs in the Dow and S&P.

The $20B wall, championed by the party of small government, will get us what? An ego boost to our narcissistic Russian controlled President?

The "wall" ---- a term for a wall, and other defensive mechanisms ...............obviously.
