HR McMaster is the new NSA.

That has to be a first for optics of a presser/news conference - all 3 sitting down on a couch from Mar-a-Lago. Cameras all looking down on them. Just very odd aesthetics.

Yeah, the article actually referred to someone as "uber-liberal."

Complains when people use liberal-biased sites; complains when someone points out someone used a conservatively-biased site. Lol.

Well, that's because there's no such thing as a conservatively-biased site, by golly. There's just the truth on one side and liberalism on the other.

Defense hawks will like this,Trump plans to increase defense spending by $54B, offset by cuts in domestic agencies, EPA, Energy, State, etc.
http://www.militarytimes.com/articles/today-in-history-after-6-days-the-first-battle-of-dalton-ends

Still, the Congress will have to pass an exception to the sequestration limits, which are still in place. I am not sure that gets done as State is expected to get hammered.

Also, for the Wall....DHS is contracting it. They anticipate some awards in April 2017. So, the sucker is moving fast it does appear.

We spend way too much on the military. When you're spending more than 3X as much as the next biggest in China there's bound to be an excessive amount of waste.

But discretionary spending only totals like $1.2B. We have a much bigger problem with entitlements, Medicare, in particular, where people have only paid in about 30% of the benefits expected to be paid.

I thought so as well. Interesting to see if they stick to that schedule.

Agreed. There is a lot of room to trim the fat, find excesses, streamline back end costs, etc. This is not 2005-2006 and we need a massive amount of funds to support the Iraq WAR. We can do more to really look at and refine DOD spending.

Your last point is right. If people are really serious about spending, they have to revamp the big 3 programs. Otherwise, we are playing at the margins. Trump, right now, would balloon the debt.

I posted a report several months ago regarding the number of missions/cruises requested by the then current CIC. That report contained the details of the its of resources and staff to perform each of the missions successfully. We do not currently have the resources available to carry out what is asked. Until that changes I will continue to support increased military spending in any form.

I was not very excited about this President coming into office but thus far his executive decisions and and agenda have pleased me greatly.
