game one final from last year, warriors win 104-89.

game two final from last year, warriors win 110-77.

game three final from last year, cavs win 120-90.

let's not get carried away. when these teams get on track, they are unstoppable, even by each other.

Warriors are not the same team. Neither are Cavs. Last year is mostly meaningless.

Very true. Cavs gotta make some adjustments and play better on Sunday, but this is far from over.

Right, and they are the best defense in the NBA.

GSW, in all honesty, has played poorly. They didn't turn it over, but they missed a ton of open shots and layups.

They had like 4 turnovers. It's a basketball game, they're going to miss SOME shots.

You expect them to go like 0-14 from 2 feet (that was first half only) next game? Klay and Draymond to have 2 points before the game was basically over? If the Cavs were doing that, everyone would say how poorly they played.

They just have have the best defense and Durant on their team this year.

The warriors played with energy and the cavs didn't. They were careless with the basketball and just simply didn't make shots either. Yes the warriors are good but the cavs are a million times better than what they showed tonight. Also where the fuck was TT tonight? He was terrible

Klay has been cold all playoffs and does draymond even average double digits? The warriors aren't relying on them scoring lol.

Kd and curry played awesome, they got bench contribution, and they didn't turn the ball over. They don't lose when that happens.

Part of the issue with TT can be blamed on Ty Lue's defensive scheme. Seriously, WTF is Thompson doing guarding the 1-3 up top? There's probably not a point guard in the league that can blow right by him. Plus, they were putting two guys on TT, trying to take away the offensive boards. Probably part of the reason that Love had so many rebounds.

Laley's comments about the Warriors not playing that well is spot on. Yeah, they only had 4 TO's but they missed a lot of open looks that they normally wouldn't.

Mike Brown, it seems, had a game plan to constantly feed KD and get his confidence up going forward.

At this point, I'm not in panic mode as Lebron teams are 1-7 in Game 1 Final's appearances. His teams seem to take a "feeling out" approach to these games. With that being said, if they don't fix some shit QUICKLY, they could be down 0-2 very quickly and then I will be in panic mode, expecting a Warriors sweep.

One of the things a lot of people seem to be taking for granted, with the Warriors blown 3-1 lead, is that I'm sure they are super pissed and super motivated after hearing how big of a "choke" they were for 11 months. The Cavs really have nothing to lose if they lose this series except for maybe Lebron, and his legacy. The Warriors have everything to lose. If they lose AGAIN, after stacking a super team with the 2nd best player in the NBA, they will be even bigger laughingstocks.

I think this is a big part as to why they came out super focused in Game 1.

Kevin Durant is reportedly willing to accept less than a max contract next season.

That, ironically, could get very expensive for the Warriors.

Golden State would need to clear cap space to pay Durant his max – the system working as intended to limit spending. But if Durant takes less than his max, the Warriors could operate as an over-the-cap team, sign players like Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston with Bird Exceptions and spend into the stratosphere.

Just how high could Golden State’s payroll get next season? Let’s make a few assumptions:

The luxury-tax line is the projected $121 million
Durant opts out and re-signs for the Non-Bird Exception ($31,848,120 starting salary)
Stephen Curry re-signs on a designated-veteran-player contract (more than $35 million projected starting salary)
Iguodala re-signs for a starting salary of $18 million
Livingston re-signs for a starting salary of $9 million
Zaza Pachulia re-signs for the full Non-Bird Exception ($3,477,600 starting salary)
Ian Clark re-signs for the full Early Bird Exception (about $6.5 million projected starting salary)
David West re-signs for the full Non-Bird Exception ($2,794,382 starting salary)
JaVale McGee re-signs for the full Non-Bird Exception ($2,540,346 starting salary)
Golden State keeps its players already under contract (Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Damian Jones and Patrick McCaw)
The Warriors use the full taxpayer mid-level exception ($5,192,000 starting salary)
Golden State rounds out its roster with a minimum-salary player
That’d give the Warriors a payroll of about $155 million and a luxury-tax bill about $106 million – a total of about $261 million.

For perspective, the Cavaliers are in line to spend about $151 million this season, about $127 million on salaries and about $25 million in luxury tax (rounding explains the seemingly incorrect math).

Now, this is obviously a rough projection, and the Warriors won’t be forced to spend so much. Maybe Golden State re-signs Iguodala or Livingston for less or lets one walk. I doubt the Warriors use the full taxpayer mid-level exception, especially if they keep both Iguodala and Livingston. Golden State might also view Clark as more of a luxury than it could afford. Pachulia and McGee could seek more elsewhere and be replaced by minimum-salary players.

But if Durant is taking a discount, it’s not to save Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber money. It’s to help his team win. Durant shouldn’t take less unless the owners commit not to scrimp around the edges – and that could lead to a monstrous payroll.

Good points. I was thinking this last night. It was disappointing to see the Cavs look so lost and lazy on both sides of the ball, but the Warriors weren't losing that game either way. I hope to see some progress Sunday night and a much more competitive game, but I still think they lose. If they were to lose game three though....

Last year, my mindset was 'Cavs have to get a title THIS year because their window will be closing and they may not get another one.' I think they could bounce back and win this series but, if they don't, I don't think we'll see another ring in Cleveland during Lebron's tenure unless they reshape the roster and bring in another legit superstar (which I don't see, because there aren't many). That's why I've had the "bask in the enjoyment of this title" mindset because it may be the only one I see in my lifetime.

GSW'S won Game 1 & 6 in 2015 by 8 points.
