Admittedly, blowing a 3-1 lead is embarrassing but man it's been a good year to be a Cleveland sports fan.
no argument. Just wish Dolan wasnt a tight ass.

Napoli and Davis are free agents. Crisp is signed thru 2016 but has vesting options....not sure if those are met. Tribe has an option on Santana which they'll probably pick up. Guyer is arbitration eligible, but under control as are a lot of other players.

It looks like the Tribe has at least a modicum of control of all but Crisp, Napoli and Davis.

Agreed with others, this was a great year. I dont feel cheated the way I did after the '15 finals (esp after all the blown calls in Game 1). This was a winable, great even series. Hope to repeat trip to WS next season. Roll Tribe.

I guess I just need to constantly degrade my own team because of superstitious jinxes like everyone else on this forum.

Remember, for everyone here calling me out for being incorrect on the tribe, I was the only one saying the Cavs were going to win the NBA Finals, despite being down 3-1.

Enjoy!

Tomlin also a free agent I believe.

It was a season that far exceeded my expectations.

I am glad it's over because these late night endings were rough. And I'm retired. I hope you working guys are hanging in there OK today.

Tomlin is signed thru 2017. Tribe will have a lot of decisions to make, but most will be of their own choosing.

To be honest with you, I think Dolan deserves a free pass. They've built a great team on a budget suitable for a team that was 29th in attendance. That's on the fans.

We also have some guys in the minors that are in the wing. I'd definitely expect zimmer and possibly Diaz to be up next year.

I understand that, but they have no one to blame about attendance but themselves IMO. They didn't even attempt to be competitive for a long stretch and I still hate them for it. What they did with Cliff Lee and CC would be akin to the Browns trading Luck and TP because they didn't want to pay them. They can fuck right off for that.

Man, I just sat and watched last night with my family and my son (2 months old) while he slept. What an awesome night...wish it would have turned out better, but still pretty fun to watch.

With that being said...what would you like to see added in the offseason (other than health)? The only thing I would really like is another solid bat who plays RF. Some power would be nice out there. Just feel like out lineup isn't very consistent...pitching carried them this post-season...by a lot. Let's get them some help.

The fans were there when Jacobs spent money and they were winning and fun to watch. The two work hand in hand.

I got a lot of "sorry" texts, when there is absolutely no reason to be sorry. I'm proud of this team and they made for a fun summer and fall. I feel for the old timers such as brf and hits. 2016 is still the best sports year in Cleveland and I think Cleveland still gets the title for city with the best sports year in 2016.

The people who are trying to correlate this to the warriors memes are fucking idiots. The only relation is blowing a 3-1 lead. One team with their fake fans talked shit for over 365 days the other team was an underdog entering the playoffs. No shocker that the only people talking shit have no connection to either team. This is why it will always be Cleveland against the world.
It still won't let me rep you. Excellent post.

Baseball is such a crapshoot that it's hard to be confident for a repeat appearance like we all were with the Cavs.

Just so you know....C.C. = Michael Brantley....Lee= Carlos Carrasco.

What a game and series. Hard to question a manager who won game 6 and 7 but I still think Maddon's moves werent the best, but they worked out. Thought he took Hendricks out too soon. Wasnt like he was wild, as that walk he didnt get the calls, and I called it the other day about Chapman. Combination of using him too much, Indians seeing him a lot was going to be a bad thing.

We can only hope for this trend of great world series' to continue.

I'm not talking about strictly this year and also there's no comparing the mid 90's offensive powerhouse to this team in terms of fun to watch. They won in completely different ways.

^^^^Okay, but that team was built with young players and trades in much the same way this team has been built, and signing guys early like Carrasco Kluber , Brantley, Gomes, and Kipnis..... and those teams in the 90's took several lean years to build too.

....and the didn't start spending a lot of money until the new stadium was built and they started getting sellout crowds.

CC and Cliff Lee are not comparable to Brantley and Carrasco and I think you know this. Not even going to explain how that comparison is a reach.

As for Tribe games, I live on the west coast. Makes going to games tough, but I did go see them when they played the A's a couple of times this yr. I'll also point out that I prob went to 20 games a yr from 1999-2009. You need me to pass another test to prove my fandom?

Outstanding season. This team had a lot of grit and never gave up. You miss two of your starting rotation and you still make it to the World Series.Losing Brantley and Gomes was huge as well but you had time to adjust with those injuries. Salazar and Carassco's injuries came right before the playoffs and gave you no time to adjust. It was a tremendous job by Tito and the whole pitching staff.
It was a fine season.

(to COA) ...not questioning your fandom at all...that was directed at Zwick and his comment.

Look, we traded Sabathia for an All Star outfielder. We traded Lee for Carrasco....Lee didn't have much left in the tank...would have been a crime to sign him to the long term deal he extracted.

no disagreement, but we've already seen Dolan isn't willing to spend the money Dolan did from when he innitially bought the team.
