I know JDM is a great actor, but Neegan's personality, and JDM's acting of that part is getting tiresome.

I think he plays the character absolutely perfect. Neegan is a straight asshole. Makes me want rick to stop being a ***** and just whack his ass. Eventually it will come where they fight back

I have no qualms with JDM. He's playing the part great. The character is annoying as hell.

Last night may have been the worst episode in the series' history. Going downhill fast. It's a damn soap opera.

LOL. Show has been that way for years. Maybe 2 good episodes a season surrounded with a bunch of uncompelling drama with mediocre writing and acting.

Yes, I realize that. But last night was especially bad.

I usually record the show and watch it at a later time since they have become full of commercials. I watched it last night and ended up changing the channel. Was a horrible episode.

Mid-season premier last night!

Meh.

I found myself checking social media as much as I was watching the show. 50 minutes into the show about the zombie apocalypse, they actually showed a herd of zombies. The Kingdom bit is going to get old fast (it actually already is). Why on earth does the zombie apocalypse return some people to medieval times (dress, dialect, mannerisms, etc.)? That makes no sense.

Ratings of TWD are falling fast, this episode didn't help that.

The ending was a typical TWD cliffhanger. I am intrigued by who the "teen goth club" is. Pretty obvious by Rick's smile that he found his army, I think we all can tell where this is going.

I actually liked the episode. And I thought the army at the end was the militant lesbians whose men were wiped out by the Saviors (except I thought I saw a few men in that group, but....lesbians).

The strategy could be interesting (doubt they go down this road - too concerned with filler showing the boring/monotonous/drama of everyday life - but it's the apocalypse so that should be suddenly interesting!!!)....You can ambush Negan's groups and slowly pick them off, but then Negan might show up in force and wipe out and entire group in one swoop.

Negan's fatal error - there are 300M guns in America....there would be no shortage of weapons and ammo in the zombie apocalypse no matter how many you confiscate.

I at first also, then I remembered that Tara would know them.

Wasn't clear to me that she didn't - her "oh who are you" and "sorry it's me again" act is the exact same thing.

The focus on the "militant lesbian" episode if I recall was their cache of arms.

I know of about 15 people (myself included), gave up when they had the cliffhanger last year. Granted most of us were done with the show when they spent a season on a farm looking for a dead girl. But, we finally all just said no more. Haven't missed the show at all. It is captivating, yet horrendous all at the same time. It made me angry 90% of the time lol

I never really had much of an interest because, to me, there's one way to do zombie stuff.

90 (give or take)-minute film.

Lots of gore.

Regardless of how dangerous the zombies are, the conflict between certain people will wind up dooming most everyone in brutal fashion.

At the end of those 90 minutes, either everyone is dead or there's one of those ambiguous conclusions where 1-2 people are still alive, but obviously pretty fucked and probably will be dead within days, if not hours or minutes.

-------

A serial TV show where the focus is primarily on soap opera character relations? Fuck that noise. I want wall-to-wall carnage and blood and guts everywhere, not that.

For the first time in a while, I'm interested in how things develop. Multiple communities is long overdue. This show always struggles/drags when they try to do character pieces on players no one cares about. Truthfully, I think Daryl has been the only well-acted and well-written role with any depth.

+1.
I liked Sunday's show. It still has a long way to go, but it actually picked up the pace and moved the story in a good direction.

I can see why you think that way, and I'm probably in the minority. But I enjoyed watching this show in Season 1...when it was actually about the zombie apocalypse. Season 2 was also good. I've stuck with it, but it is far from the same show that lured all of the viewers in. I also understand that they're following a comic book that is already written and have to somewhat follow that. But as a fan of the story being told in Seasons 1 & 2, the last 5 have been more of a soap opera than a thrill ride. Just my $.02. I'll quit bitching now. Haha.
