Heard an interesting question today.
If you could only watch movies from a certain actor or actress for the rest of your life, who would it be? You would only be able to watch their previous films and future films. No other movies allowed.
I honestly am not sure. One answer was Tom Hanks, which is hard to argue.

Hanks is a good one. I'm a big fan of Leonardo Dicaprio.

Just as I am was reading '45 things about Saving Private Ryan you didn't know'
Hanks is a good one.
Harrison Ford, not much going forward, but has a pretty impressive list as well.

Yeah I'm probably going with Leo. He is my favorite actor and just has a great mix of movies.
I'd probably consider Hanks, Denzel, and Bradley Cooper as well. This is a great question though.

Have to agree on Hanks, but like DeNiro just as well

Denzel was my first thought. But it kinda seems like he's just taking roles lately.Iliketurtles;1809142 wrote:Yeah I'm probably going with Leo. He is my favorite actor and just has a great mix of movies.

Another one for me is Matt Damon. Clooney is an option too.

Hanks is a good choice. Leo is hard as he's been in a lot of crap. The Beach, Shutter Island, J Edgar, Romeo & Juliet, Great Gatsby, Inception (aware I'm on my own here), Didn't love Wolf of Wall Street, Aviator. etc.... Essentially I'd be getting him for Revolutionary Road, The Revenant, Departed, and Catch Me If You Can.
I'll throw Brad Pitt, Bill Murrary,, Arnold, Stallone, and JCVD's name out there as well. I love 80s/90s action movies.

Hanks's body of work is unreproachable. I like Daniel Day Lewis better as an actor, but beyond Joe versus the Volcano and maybe talking to a volleyball, all of Hanks's films are worth watching.

Clooney had an awesome stretch there with The American, Up in the Air, and The Descendants.Iliketurtles;1809150 wrote:Damon and Clooney are great ones as well. Love both of them can't believe I didn't think about them right away.

Matt Damon was the first one for me, because his lesser roles are still great (Saving Private Ryan, Oceans series, Departed...semi supporting role, Mystic Pizza, Interstellar, Field of Dreams, School Ties.....EUROTRIP!!!).
Not to mention his headlines: Bourne Series, Good Will Hunting, We Bought a Zoo, Martian, Rounders, Talented Mr. Ripley, Dogma, Legend of Bagger Vance, Green Zone, True Grit, Monuments Men, Promised Land).
I dont know, I would find it hard not to pick Damon. He has a wide range of movies. Heist, action, spy, feel good, romance, war, comedy, sci-fi, animated, sports, western...really, not a single category not covered. And, he is only 46. So he has another 15-20 years of prime acting ability.

If I could pick 5 it would be in no special order;
1. Harrison Ford
2. Tom Hanks
3. Robert DeNiro
4. Mel Gibson
5. John Wayne (old school)

My immediate thoughts before reading the responses were Leo and Hanks. I like Leo better, but Hanks has more great movies. Denzel is up there too.
Females? MAYBE Charlize Theron? She seems to be in mostly good flicks.

I'd have to think about it, but DiNero might be near the top of my list. Unless there's a character actor who's had tiny roles in a ton of movies I like or would want to see. Then I'd pick him/her. They might only be in it for 2-3 minutes, but that counts, right?
