Okay, first things first. The president gets to appoint the cabinet, so there isn't actually much of a check there.

Second, Trump tends to berate anyone who strongly disagrees with him. What makes you think he'd listen to anything more than 'yes men' in a cabinet?

Thirdly, I'm curious where you got so much knowledge of Clinton's personal views of herself. What makes you think she won't listen to others, particularly when it might be in her own interest to do so? A self-centered candidate would hear out their cabinet, even if only to establish what course of action is best for them.

What difference does it make whether she listens to others. She can say and do whatever she wants, and if it doesn't advance her personal interests then she will lie and do something else. When you get a pass from the media and you are above the law, what reason would there be to listen to others.

The phrasing of the start of this comment was ironic, I think. "What difference does it make ..."

However, to answer your question, I was merely addressing what Spock claimed. He claimed with what seemed to be a relatively high level of conviction that he knows she won't listen to counsel. I was merely pointing out that he can't know that, and that there might be a case made for her to do so. That's all.

The statement that a vote for Trump is like a vote for ccrunner is about as accurate and as terrifying as it gets.

As for Boat (but*) he has had to conjure up Andrew Jackson from the grave to justify his vote for Hillary. Jackson was a brash man who offed a man in a duel because he thought he had been cheated. As president he engaged in ethnic cleansing. Slavery was legal. As long as you do not slink to this level folks its all just part of the game. Your conscience is clear. Ptown: I usually try to give him some leeway. When you are born and raise in union/democrat areas it is hard to break free from all that you know (I have been there, done that). This is especially hard when you move to the Beltway and work in a pseudo-academic life.

I'm not saying that any/all of them are right, but I do understand to a certain extent.

I had read somewhere as well that he may not be on the ballot as the libertarian candidate. Johnson has stated that he will be on the ballot in all 50 states.

While not 100% sure yet, I'm leaning third party (Johnson) and probably 75% that way. I have no ability to legit believe in Hillary (I mean, the whole FBI investigation essentially could be summed up as "We don't think she's corrupt, just really incompetent!" which really doesn't inspire confidence) and Trump comes off as a potentially dangerous buffoon whose main skill is firing up the lowest common denominator and getting them to parrot absolutely mindless drivel (ie: any of CC's "he'll make decisions just like me because he can't be bought!!!" shit) while everyone else is just waiting for them to lose interest and retreat to their trailers.

Lest anyone think that a vote is a waste just because it cannot, itself, make an election.

I have decided to vote for Gary Johnson. His positions and character most closely match what I believe a president should be. Hillary is power hungry criminal and Trump is a political buffoon. Johnson may not win, but I hope it opens the door for a break in the two-party stranglehold on the system.
