Thoughts or predictions for D2?
Girls 4x800- Milton won convincingly last year, but graduated Angela Klimklowski. I still look for them to win with Indian Lake getting 2nd. IL returns everyone from last year.
Boys 4x800- Tipp lost Salyer and Bruns. They still have Conley and Feitshans from last year's 4x800 and will add Kevin Fink. Their 4th runner could be a freshman or Luke Zerkle who ran 54 in the 400 and 2:08 in the 800 last year. I look for them to repeat for the third year in a row and for Northeastern to get 2nd. Winning time 8:15.
Girls 1600- Cassie Schieltz from West Milton is the fastest returning runner. If Nicole Klimklowski runs I expect her to win. Rachel Watt from Indian Lake will definitely be in the mix.
Boys 1600- Kevin Fink is the fastest returning runner. He will most likely concentrate on the 3200 this year and Tyler Feitshans will likely concentrate on the 1600. I look for Feitshans to win and after that its up in the air. It may only take sub 4:40 to qualify. Freshmen Sam Wharton and Ricky Andrews from Tipp ran 4:51 and 4:52 last year as 8th graders. One of them will definitely bein the mix and Brandon Townsend from Kenton Ridge too if he decides to run.
Girls 800- Kristie Kiracofe from Eaton, Katie Finney from Urbana, and Rachel Watt are the top 3 returners and all qaulified last year. They were all within a second of each other. Should be very tight race. If Watt runs fresh she should win.
Boys 800- Michael Lanning from Northeastern is fasting returning runner with a 2:01. Tipp's Cody Conley went 2:01 as well. It will be a good race between those two. Look for Robbie Pumphrey of Graham to finish 3rd.
Girls 3200- Nicole Klimklowski won convincingly last yearand was 15 seconds off the record. She has a legitimate shot at breaking it this year if she is healthy. Mallory Kitts from Northwestern is the 2nd fastest returning runner and who knows what will happen after that.
Boys 3200- Feitshans is the fastest returning runner, but Fink will likely be running it this year. Fink never got an opportunity to run competitively at an invite last year in the 3200. His best time was a 10:06 at County. I still look for him to win with Jon McMaken from Graham a close 2nd. I don't think Zach Hawke from Graham will finish 5th for a fourth year in a row. He should get the monkey off his back this year. If Brandon Townsend from Kenton Ridge decides to run I think he'll claim the 4th spot. I imagine Sam Wharton from Tipp will want to do the 1600.
