Simon vs Liriano. About an 87.5% chance of the first loss of many.

Buccos are playing the role of the forgotten contender. They look like they might be on a mission this year. One of the best teams last year and got stuck against Arrieta. (Should've pitched Liriano)

Heck of a start for the Red Legs. BP's homer would have been 15 feet up on the batter's eye in June.

I mean, it's Simon. So it's not going to last. And Liriano probably locks in and the Reds don't score again.

You are the most negative person I have ever encountered.

Bases jacked and no outs

C'mon Phillips, don't swing for a HR

Thom can make a win irritating. Phillips with a big 1st inning HR and another big sac fly against the tough Liriano...then he goes for a do or die play and throws the ball backwards. This directly led Thom into glamouring over his defense and how we may never see another like him and them they talked about his highlight reel?

I think that might flow better after a great play. I continue to believe my theory that Phillips pays the Reds TV guys on the side.

Playing with fire. Should have about 6 runs then Suarez errors and then Big Pasta walks and then hits a batter

Kinda sucks but I don't mind Phillips getting thrown out there.

3rd baseman hasn't made a play this game

I have watched 3rd baseman misplay 5 consecutive balls at them

Is there a stat for runners thrown out at home? We excel

I think it's hard to play baseball when it's 30 degrees and wet

I can't remember the last time the Pirates beat the Reds and Marte didn't seal the win

For me, there's nothing more frustrating in sports than watching a bullpen blow a game. Especially by guys like Hoover or Ohlendorf.

Here's the difference...the good teams just never give in when the go ahead run is up. They continue to nibble and tease even on 2-0 and 3-1 counts.

Hoover gets nervous on a 1-0 count and throws a cookie

Marte was 1 for 14 with 8 K's in his career vs J.J. Hoover.

Gonna be a long season fellas.

Ironic moment #2 (Bruce hitting the opposite field single was #1) - Bryan Price finally uses a closer for an extended save (he refused to ever extend Chapman when he was the most dominant reliever in the majors) and the guy gives up a grand salami.
