Interesting take. Not sure that he is right, but he makes some decent points. There's no question the news networks depend on ratings and they knew that's what Trump gave.

The liberal media is responsible for letting Hillary run. She should probably be in jail, ya know, like everyone else that did what she did.

Trump would not be running if not for the incompetent, biased, partisan hacks currently in the White House, House and Senate on both sides of the aisle....and he would be long out of the race by now.

This seems to be the battle cry of the Trumpeters, but what makes them think a novice (at least former) liberal is the right candidate for the GOP?

You beat me to posting this.....and it's spot on. Most assuredly, it doesn't matter whether Trump wins....4 years of Hillary would be just as good to fan rage and keep their ratings up.

Maybe. I doubt most Trump supporters aren't watching CNN though.

I thought it was MSNBC, mainly Morning Joe.
Or, it could be Fox and Friends.

Trump was a mix of a lot of things that all involve the conservative media, the liberal media, and the tone deaf nature of the R's establishment and the inability of them to put forth a strong candidate.
Trump is the first cable news style/ social media candidate.

It's more than just the major networks, ....all outlets, Drudge, breitbart, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levine.... have been tripping over each other to give Trump time, or pick up the latest statement or tweet from him. For a bunch of guys (and girls) that blasted the republican congress for not adhering to conservative principles and resisting Obama, they were the first to abandon their conservative principles this election season for ratings. It is a symbiotic relationship...Trump says something outrageous, they parrot it, trump's ratings go up, and so do the medias ratings.
What probably surprised me the most, is how easily people can give up on their stated core values, and vote for a guy who is more RINO than Kasich, not just reluctantly, but FERVENTLY. Are we that easily manipulated by the media that we would support a loud, uncouth, rude, smug, bully? The evidence is all over the ballot box.

78% of CNN's total political coverage has been dedicated to Trump since September. I don't believe any other network can match that.

Forget who was ahead, but saw both MSNBC and CNN were mentioning Trump twice as much as FNC. Kind of makes sense, as those networks would be less interested in covering other Repub candidates.
But would love to see the ratio of positive/negative stories where Trump is mentioned. Guy is proving any press is good press.
