Please provide actual evidence that this is the case, when every legitimate source says otherwise.

Those of us with rational thinking and evidence on our side will be waiting.

Seems like we've been doing pretty good in the preventing terrorism department without this. Remind me, how many major terror attacks have happened in the US since 9/11?

Probably because they aren't going to release an email to you showing you the national security info?

Once the tool is created, what's stopping China or another "ally" of the US from asking the same thing? Do you trust China with the tool?

Your very naive if you think this is a one time request that will allow Apple complete control into infinity over the backdoor.

yeah, we've been doing a pretty good job because smart phones only very recently have become so secure and we haven't had to fight US companies to get terrorist information.

its no more naïve than you believing Tim Cook cant comply with this request without creating a backdoor. and what if China asked for it? they could have asked for it last year? they could ask for even if Apple wins their case. Our laws have no bearing on what China can or cant do. hell, China could ban iphones and kick out all of Apple's factories if they wanted to. it would solve that problem. hell, even if the US govt wins the case, it has no bearing on what China can or cant do?

Clearly have no clue how international law and cooperation works.

If the tool exists, they can be subpoena but anyone who wants it. Apple wants to avoid even having the tool so it doesn't have to deal with a potential flaw in its security.

So weeks later, we find out that it was the FBI who locked the phone in the first place.

Anyone on the government's side previously who don't change their minds based on this information is beyond hope.
