Dems have a traitor and a socialist running for President of the United States of American (think about that) any VP candidate would be a joke also.

The Republican not much better in the potential candidate for President… but this is what the present political partiessystem and the career politicians has created. "can we say term limits"

However a strong potential candidate for VP is emerging if not for the top job as President.


Would a Trump/ Kasich
Cruz / Kasich
Rubio / Kasich

Kasich a good VP for any of the Republican Presidential Candidates or Should the tables be turned?

I'm not sure he has an interest in VP. I think he'd rather be governor than VP.

I'd rather Kasich run for President rather than VP. However, I think he is a top VP candidate because Ohio.

I think I agree with you. I don't see him taking the VP offer of any of the other front runners except maybe Rubio.

Easily? Did you see the last election?

Obama would have stomped Romney without Ohio or Florida. I don't think Kasich/Rubio automatically guarantees Ohio or Florida; they are swing states for a reason.

well first of all, that ticket is not running against Obama, secondly Kasich and Rubio are very popular.

Obama only won 2 more states and less than 5k of the popular vote. Hardly a stomping.

It was 62.6 Million to 59.1 Million, that's more than 3 Million. It was larger than 2004 and 2000, but not as large as 2008. It was a stomping in recent terms. Don't sugar coat it.


But, I would be behind a Rubio/ Kasich ticket, so long as the advisers are not necons and early W Bush years retreads.

Even with Ohio and Florida, Romney needed at least two more states. Not sure how you quantify a "stomping" when the popular vote is a 3% difference, but it was decisive.

And I think Obama won that election with big data and the ground game to work the data. Romney may not have run a good campaign, especially with getting the vote out, but Obama squeezed out just about every vote he could. Mechanically speaking, Obama ran one hell of a campaign.

Yeah, sure. I'll just say Obama won in 2012 more than W did in 2000 and 2004.
Anyone who thinks it was close, is not looking at the numbers.

Gov. John Kasich would top both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders among Ohio voters, according to a new Quinnipiac University Poll released Wednesday.
The Republican governor had double-digit leads over both Democratic candidates and performed better than any other GOP contender among likely Ohio voters.
Kasich topped Clinton, 54 percent-37 percent, and Sanders, 54 percent-35 percent.

I love Kasich, but if he does not do well March 1, he has to get out of the race. The field needs to coalesce around 1 primary candidate if they want to take down Trump. The longer he stays in, the longer the field is fractured and Trump obtains more and more delegates.
Him finishing last in NV, even behind Carson, really hurts.

He is not winning folks. The math does not work. Therefore, he needs to drop out. Otherwise, Trump steams ahead.

Would love to see a Trump/Kasich card. I think Kasich could give trump some of the government background he will need.

If Kasich wins Ohio on March 15th he could prevent Trump from getting enough delegates to get the nomination since it is a winner take all state.

To me, it almost seems that this should be the goal for the GOP establishment. Just get to a brokered convention and choose someone besides Trump in Cleveland.

So, the GOP is putting all the eggs in Kasich to win Ohio then?
And, if Trump wins Ohio with Kasich still in the race, it is essentially over, Trumps wins the nomination.

If Kasich does poorly on March 1, and Trumps basically takes nearly all of the March 1, states, the GOP would be foolish to bet the whole farm on Kasich to win in Ohio.

Honest question....why would you not want Trump to win? He is gaining momentum not slowing down and either D candidate is a freaking joke! Clinton should be in jail and Bernie in an insane asylum.

Because Boat and Ptown are Dem honks. Trump is ahead of both Bernie and Hillary in the polls and he isn't even paying attention to them right now. People are fed up and Trump is capitalizing on it.

So Rubio and Cruz just flip a coin to see who stays in the race?

Kasich should drop out. Much as I detest Trump, if he beats both Cruz and Rubio cleanly in Ohio then he's earned the nomination. But I suppose if Kasich can win a few states, including Ohio, then he potentially could be the nomination out of a brokered convention.

But it's interesting to me. I don't think other than South Carolina so far that the primaries are indicative of most of the rest of the country. Iowa is heavily evangelical (so is SC, to lesser extent), and New Hampshire and Nevada are just weird. I want to see what happens in TX and FL (and I know Trump is leading in both states, or at least in FL).
