Pure capitalism does create huge wealth gaps, similar to those in India (you have been there, our wealth gap pales in comparison, you know it, I know it). However, we haven't been a pure capitalist system in close to 100 years. So your question doesn't really apply since we aren't purely capitalistic and haven't been for many decades.

So no, our "income inequality" while obviously greater than those European socialist countries you want us to emulate, it is not that bad compared to the rest of the free world. Those that have been anywhere outside of our country can see this.

Don't be so naive. If you owned a small business where you could get the work done with one person or more efficiently with two, you would hire two people if it were in your budget. If minimum wage was raised on you and you could no longer afford both employees you eventually would have to let one go. One employee's quality of life would improve while the other would be jobless.
