Ohio State reloads, but we don't have anyone who can replace Heyward. The recruiting on the D-line has been pretty bad the past couple of years. The D-line is probably the most important part of a championship team, and if Heyward leaves, the Buckeyes will not have a championship caliber front. The defense will be good enough to stop most teams, but not an elite team in a bowl game. It will be reminiscent of 2006 where the defense was good against everyone except Michigan and Florida.

Anything is possible, but I'd say it's at least 50-50 right now. Heyward, unlike Gibson, has some resources within his family (per reports elsewhere) and his mom REALLY wants him to get his degree.

If Heyward does come back, OSU won't miss a beat on the DL, even with the loss of Gibson. However, if both leave, then they will be good, but not great like they were this past season.

There was a disclaimer. I posted this thread by what he said, I never once stated it as a finality. Don't treat me like he's the first person to lie to the media.

He was caught up in the excitement after the game and told a little kid what he wanted to hear. Good luck to Gibson at the next level.

He didn't lie though.. He said "I'm not ready to leave yet..."

It was also after a BIG win.

Little kid? That's EXTREMELY mature. I wasn't the only reporter there, there were at least 10 others talking to him at some point or another.

Yup... if Heyward stays we will still have an outstand D-Line

Strong Side - Heyward - Fellows (good things have been said about him)
DT-Larimore,Simon,Geobell,Bellemy,Hankins,Floyd :)
Weak Side- Williams, Thomas (Thomas is the real deal)

I think it could be just as good as this years if heyward stays.

Ltrain, you're right, but it's not like I was lying when I created this thread. All I did was post what was told to me.

For those attacking me, frankly, I don't give a shit. I reported what I heard, and if you get hard picking on me because of it, more power to you.

lhslep- If you dont care then why respond. Obviously you do and quite frankly if this is your major I would change it quickly. Not because of what Gibson told you and you relayed , that happens all the time. But going on here and calling people names and cursing is not the way to handle this situation. You need to get a lot thicker skin if you are going to survive!!!

I'll take this information and consider it legit. You gave us some good insight while you were out in Pasadena leading up to the game and I imagine this info is accurate as well.

lhs can't get on here and start a thread like this and want to be taken seriously when on the next post he has a picture from his camera phone prooving that he was close to Gibson. If you want to be taken seriously, act like a professional.

And then when you drop the N bomb because I offended you, you act like a child. This is the real world. Great for you that you were in the locker room, but like I originally said, it was after a game. You might feel cool for getting into the locker room and taking pictures of the players, but don't come on here and say it's your job and you are just reporting like other reporters.

This is the post I have more of a problem with than any of the others.

It's not your job "to report back to us". You choose to do it. And I don't think any of those other reporters were reporting that Gibson was staying or posting pictures of him in the locker room.

What do you mean as accurate?

Did Gibson say that? Yes.

Is he returning? No.

No one is calling lhslep a liar.

Having worked in the media for about a decade -- I'd second this.

You have to let this crap roll right off you or you'll never make it.

Being hated, loathed and despised is a basic part of being a member of the media. You either learn to ignore it, or change your profession.

And yes, I chose to change my career (somewhat) because I didn't like the constant adversarial relationship I had with everyone outside the news room.

Thanks. I guess its true, we learn something new every day. To be honest, I've never heard of an Urban Dictionary before. (Not that I would have any use for one)
