My favorites are the guys who stare at themselves in the mirror for extended periods of time in between sets. They sit there flexing in the mirror and whatnot. It humors me.

The only one that annoys me is the guy that loads up the leg press with all of the 45s just to one rep.

At my gym, that's the only place that doesn't get used...

Those people are douches. Nobody in the gym is impressed by your flexing so take the time at home to flex into a mirror.

I'd say the people who always walk around with gloves or a weight belt on should be high up on that list. Not only do you look like an idiot, but you are also hurting yourself by wearing a belt when it is not needed.

Flexing in between sets is one thing. I'm talking about the guys who do sets in between flexing. I spend about 45 minutes to an hour in the weight room every day I go to the gym, and I swear all some guys do is look in themselves in the mirror and then occasionally pick up a weight.

Ah I gotcha. There's one guy at my gym who kinda fits this description where he's always flexing in the mirror, but he actually does body building competitions and is just doing his routine.

There's a guy at my gym who does that. He does this goofy routine where he shadowboxes for about 30 seconds, then he strokes his hair with his hand and gives himself an "I'm so sexy" stare. If it wasn't so funny it would be out right creepy. I am surprised he doesn't go all Buffalo Bob (Silence of the Lambs) and put his Johnson in between his legs.

I do this. Honestly, when I do a good solid work out I'll spend an hour or more in the squat rack never moving. It's not like I'm standing around, I just have a lot of different exercises to do in there.

The old men who are in the locker-room with their junk hanging out with one leg propted up on the bench drying off. Yeah, old men please wear clothes at all times.

Most annoying gym behavior...

People who spend all their time watching others and judging them instead of minding their own damn business.

The dude who puts every freaking plate he can find in the vicinity on the leg press and then comes less than a quarter of the way down.

Advice: Less weight, larger range of motion, jerky. Leave some plates for the rest of us.

^^^^That dudes at least funny to watch....The dude I really hate is dude you don't know whatsoever, but he feels the need to correct your "mistakes". Hey dickhead, There are several ways to sit on the seat, according to what you wanna hit. I sit on the edge of the seat when I wanna hit rear delts. A$$hole.

The people who are in better shape/bigger than I am (everyone at this point, thank you college) who walk around, minding their business, while making me feel bad about myself. They should be a bit more considerate.

But really the answer is anyone who thinks they're cool for lifting more than the average person. No one is impressed by your herculean strength Mr. Macho Man. Note, people who actually have herculean-esque strength do not fall into this category as they actually are impressive and tend to be nicer/less show off-ish about it.

2. The guy (often the same guy who is #1) who feels it is necessary to scream, bark (yes bark) and yell while lifting weights. Please understand I am aware it is necessary to give out the occasional grunt and to breathe properly; but there is no reason to scream like an old Buick is sitting on your chest when you are bench pressing 225 lbs. The barking has to go too-- you are not the Berzerker or Bruiser Brody (professional wrestlers).
I actually did some basic and admittedly rudimentary testing involving about 20 other people and a grip dyno.

We found out that the increase in registered strength by grunting/snarling versus remaining silent was roughly 35%.

I see no problem and actually expect some grunting and deep breathing while working out. I'm talking about the people who scream like they are in a porn video or who bark and hiss like they are former WWE wrestler the Berzerker or Bruiser Brody. There's a big difference.

I think the guys that scream in pornos need to be beaten.

Does anyone actually watch porn to see or in any way acknowledge the guy? Unless he looks like Mark Mangino and sweats like Danny Glover, no one really cares....you're there to dump one on her face and collect a check. Shut the hell up in the meantime.

^ROFL!

I'm almost positive this is particular to where I go, but the two short guys that start jumping and screaming before they lift annoy the hell out of me.
