...my guess is that Yes gets in next year, although a little to late for the great Chris Squire. Bands from that era like Yes & finally Deep Purple getting in are long overdue.

Yes; they have completely diluted its value. Maybe one or two truly epic bands or performers should get in each year; if that; and it should be for just the elites of rock.

It's not that weird considering Beastie Boys, RunDMC, and Bob Marley are all in too.

Glad to see Cheap Trick and Deep Purple finally in. Yes should be in as well.

Yes is much better than all of those bands. I am fine with Deep Purple. Meh to the rest. It is a joke, look how long until they recognized Rush.

Yes and the Doobie Brothers should be in.

Another band not in yet that should be in as well as Yes and the Doobies is Emerson Lake & Palmer. If not collectively, their individual bodies of work should be enough. I can't think of a better keyboard player than Keith Emerson and vocalist/writer Greg Lake was amazing going back as his early days w/King Crimson.

Bands like Yes, albiet great musicians in regards to technical ability......really made no impact on future artists. Never heard another artist talk about how ELO, ELP, Yes etc..... ever made them want to be musicians.

NWA had way more of a cultural impact on music and life to their listeners than Cheap Trick.

Regardless if you like it or not, NWA music was groundbreaking.

If you grew up in the Midwest in the mid/late 70's many would disagree with you. NWA became more famous and I suppose you could say started the whole gangster rap scene. Cheap Trick is from an earlier time and maybe more regional to just the Midwest.

I like that both NWA and Cheap Trick made it into the HOF but to say "NWA had way more of a cultural impact on music and life to their listeners than Cheap Trick." is debatable.

How is NWA rock? I guess they stole baselines and beats from existing rock.

It's time we get over the fact that they include more than rock bands in the HoF. It's been happening for awhile now.

Hope this helps. [emoji3]

Oh I was around for all of it. Cheap trick impact on music isn't 1/10th of NWA

Look at what the individual talent of NWA did after they split up. Dre, Cube and E will likely get in as individuals.

Then people would complain because Mozart isn't in.
