Health Food Stores you know those places where you pay 3 times as much for poorly package out dated food, unknown brand supplements, bulk grains, gluten free stuff (double standard) to keep you healthy and more handicap parking space than normal. Oh! I forgot the lady that helps you, knows where everything is at but can’t find it and smells like hand lotion, not friendly also. That could have been because I was wearing deer skin gloves.
I only visit this place to get bulgur wheat for tabouleh I don’t think they sell pork rinds and red pop.
My point is whenever I do shop that the Health Store the help and many of the customers look unhealthy. I have yet to see anyone that looks to be in great shape, physically unable to use a push mower and nor is wearing anything that resembles stylish cloths.
I think if you want to be healthy stay away for those types of stores, save your money and eat more bacon, fried food, have a donut and cheese potatoes in moderation (glutton free) take the money you would be saving and breath in some gun smoke at a pistol range or eat a truck stop… .

I buy most of my stuff online but when I do need to go to Vitamin Shoppe in Canton, I'd say 80% of the clientele (male & female) are jacked/ripped/in shape. Occasionally I'll see older ladies in there but it's mostly younger men/women.

Belly, this thread ranks right up there with one of the dumbest things that I've ever read... and I've started a lot of stupid fucking threads.

Why is gluten free a double standard?
Also I shop at Whole Foods and 99% of the people in there are fit rich people. Poor people can shop at regular grocery stores.

Or smart people*
I love WF, but the markup on some of their everyday items is absurd.

If you are "glutton free" I'd imagine you'd be thin.Automatik;1768924 wrote:GLUTTON FREE.

Also known as "Whole Paycheck" for many folks.sleeper;1768927 wrote: Also I shop at Whole Foods
Agree with Auto on the markup. I just buy my grassfed meat & farm raised pork in bulk from a local farmer and get my vegetables from a local farm market.

It's more expensive then your average grocery store but the quality is a lot better even for the conventional foods they sell.BR1986FB;1768934 wrote:Also known as "Whole Paycheck" for many folks.

Oh, I agree it's better than a grocery store but if you shop around you can get the same quality at better prices. But that also depends on your geographic area as, I believe, you mentioned you were in DC....probably not going to find too many farms with grassfed beef in that area.sleeper;1768936 wrote:It's more expensive then your average grocery store but the quality is a lot better even for the conventional foods they sell.

For meat I'll go there or Sprouts. Sprouts, if you've never heard of it, is a less expensive Whole Foods.Automatik;1768939 wrote:WF meat and seafood is unmatched.

I'm sure you can find the same quality at lower prices. WF just does the leg work for me. When you make the salary I make, it's not always about cost; convenience is nice to pay for too.BR1986FB;1768942 wrote:Oh, I agree it's better than a grocery store but if you shop around you can get the same quality at better prices. We recently got a Sprouts here in AL about a year ago where I live. I love it place is awesome and you can sometimes get fruits/veggies cheaper than at Kroger/Walmart. Their meats are also the best around here although I've never been to Whole Foods (I think one is about to open here soon though). I have been to Earth Fare and their shit was just outrageously priced.lhslep134;1768943 wrote:For meat I'll go there or Sprouts. Sprouts, if you've never heard of it, is a less expensive Whole Foods.

I'll go to whole foods for the meat and seafood (plus other various items you can't get at a regular grocery store). Trader joes for the rest.

They don't have one where I live and said they have no plans in Opening a Trader Joe's in Huntsville (Alabama just got their first Trader Joe's in Birmingham this year). So I say Fuck Trader Joe's! I have heard really good things about them though.Automatik;1768961 wrote:I work with every store chain mentioned in this thread. Fuck 'em all! Trader Joe's #1!

Ha! I buy a calf from a local farmer and raise it. Once it's old enough I butcher it using my bare hands and teeth!
