I'm in the stock piling draft pick camp. You're going to suck this year and next couple. 1 pick will not help that much. Draft high round picks often, don't miss on them...and do the same next year. That's why I'm all for it. This team is no where close to being 1 player away. They're about 22 players away, get as many as you can through the draft.

I used to be in the camp, now I'm not. Get me a fucking QB. It's just too damn hard to win without an awesome QB.Benny The Jet;1791678 wrote:I'm in the stock piling draft pick camp. I'm in the "Let's not trade the #2" camp. The only way I consider it is if we get a deal that BEATS the RGIII deal a few years ago.
That trade was 3 1sts(2 net) and 1 2nd rounder to move down 4 spots(from #2 to 6) so you do the math.

Yeah, but, his name might be Deshaun Watson after a 1-15 campaign in 2016...Commander of Awesome;1791681 wrote:I used to be in the camp, now I'm not. Get me a fucking QB. It's just too damn hard to win without an awesome QB.

I'd take that trade. Not really thrilled by the "top" QBs.

Lol that deal is terrible. Unless they are getting a pretty legit player from the Broncos its not even worth it.
Browns would go from #2 to #19 and pick up picks #31 and 49 in this years draft and then a 3rd rounder in 2017 and a unknown player.
In 2012 the Rams went from #2 to #6 and picked up pick #39 in that draft and then also got the Redskins 1st round picks in 2013 and 2014.

You would trade the 2nd overall pick for the 2 late first round picks, a #2, and unnamed player?like_that;1791685 wrote:I'd take that trade. Not really thrilled by the "top" QBs.
Okay Mangini.
Does anyone remember the joke of a trade we got in exchange for Julio Jones? That's what it reminds me of.

I don't think you'll ever see an offer like that again, because of what happened with the RG3 tradesleeper;1791683 wrote:I'm in the "Let's not trade the #2" camp. The only way I consider it is if we get a deal that BEATS the RGIII deal a few years ago.

Not even close to what the mangini trade was. I wouldn't expect you to know that since you don't really follow Cleveland sports and just spew hot takes.sleeper;1791693 wrote:You would trade the 2nd overall pick for the 2 late first round picks, a #2, and unnamed player?

The deal itself for Julio was a great trade. The picks made by management after the trade were a disgrace. Give any legitimate gm those picks and the Browns would be in really good shape now.
Also, has Julio won anything in his life? He is trash. /sleeper

The Mangini trade was pure garbage. We got a bunch of no name fillers and trash draft picks for the #6 pick in the draft.like_that;1791695 wrote:Not even close to what the mangini trade was. I wouldn't expect you to know that since you don't really follow Cleveland sports and just spew hot takes.

The current one proposed is only slightly better but not worth it for the #2 pick.

If they keep the 2, I really don't want a qb. Not saying we don't need one, but don't think either is worth the 2. I'd put money on it that we will be the worst team next year and drafting number one, and I think Watson projects much better as a top quarterback than either of these two.

5 picks in the top 49 would definitely go a long way on the rebuild if we hit on those picks. I wouldn't mind taking jalon smith with one of those 3rd picks. Was a top 5 player before the injury.

Everything I've read about Smith's injury is he'll be lucky to even be 80% of what he once was. No thanks, I'm out on anything higher than a late 5th flier on that. Unless you've heard otherwise regarding his injury.Crimson streak;1791702 wrote:5 picks in the top 49 would definitely go a long way on the rebuild if we hit on those picks. From Yahoo: "Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reported at the time that Smith had been removed from at least three teams’ draft boards" .

I wouldn't hesitate to use the #2 on Wentz.

NFL clubs on Jaylon Smith's knee injury: 'It's bad'

This is an injury is less than the injury that cost Ifo to drop to the 7th, and never play for the browns. I think I'm out on Smith unless someone provides better injury news.

2 to 19 is a long way to trade back, but I lean toward doing the deal. 4 picks in the top 49 can yield a lot of talent.

Well if the Ram's take the guy the Browns want, a trade becomes a lot more likely. No team has this "Oh well, take whoever is left" attitude. You stick with your draft board and if the Ram's take that guy, you go BPA.

At this point, I would see what we can get out of Thomas, and draft Tunsil.

If we draft a fucking tackle at 2 I'll be livid. Tired of oline in the first two rounds. Fucking PLAYMAKERS. Jack Ramsey or left over QB. Not a tackle.
