The only good thing about this is apparently the people attending the conference/gathering at the facility were on a break, and thus many of them had left that room and gone to bathrooms etc... otherwise you could probably easily double the amount of deaths. And it also appears there was probably a second target somewhere else, but fortunately the police killed the terrorists before they could carry that out.

I still haven't read anything stating he was afraid of being labeled. The story Quaker posted said he didn't want to racially profile. To me that reads more like, "I know Middle Easterners in my neighborhood and they are having guests I don't recognize. But being suspicious of people just because they're foreign and I don't know them...that's kind of shaky, so I'll let it slide." Not "I bet something's going on with those strangers coming to the Middle Easterner's house in the neighborhood, but I better not say anything because I'm afraid of being labeled".

If there is an article where he explicitly states that he had concrete suspicions, but didn't say or do anything to act on them because he was afraid of being labeled, then by all means, show it. If there isn't, you're just taking something and expanding it to fit your personal narrative (that PROGRESSIVE BOOGEYMAN is ruining us all!!!!!), which isn't anything different than what you and others on here were saying about the media and their reactions to Ferguson/Michael Brown.

Yes. It was stated in the article that you keep jumping to your own conclusions about. He noticed the abnormal thing of people in his neighborhood having guests he didn't recognize. It's the sort of thing that doesn't really register as anything big in most peoples' minds...unless something insane like these shootings happen, in which case a person might start thinking that they should have thought more about those strange guests.

It's a pretty common thing when it comes to crime like this. Some random person kills a bunch of people and neighbors are all like "Whoa, I never would have expected this. He was a nice guy; quiet and kept to himself, but friendly if you talked to him." An outsider might read those quotes and think along the lines of "Man, a lot of these killers are described as 'polite loners'...I wonder why more people don't catch onto that", but in practical application, you probably aren't going to monitor any random person's activities because they aren't as publicly sociable as you'd want them to be.

I was basing this line of reasoning on the statements made by the neighbor. Sorry for using facts to draw conclusions rather than just sticking my head in the sand and pretending everything is okay. If you don't see the damage that being PC can cause, then you are either ignorant or afraid; neither of which are desirable.

It's already been said, but story is incomplete, however I could easily see a future crime/terrorist attack not being prevented because the person who wants to report suspicious activity will be worried about the PC crowd putting him/her thru a verbal tar and feathering of shame.
