Heard a brutal stat today....WHEN the Browns cut bait with Manziel, their last three 1st round QB's (Quinn, Weeden, JFF) will have been with the team for a combined total of 7 years. SMDH

1st rounder....LOL.....NO value. No team in their right mind is going to trade anything for that poison.

All were drafted with the 22nd overall pick too.

I said at the beginning of the year that the long term answer at QB for this team in not currently on the roster. Nothing has changed.

You need to get a grip. If it wasn't for social media, the kid would be doing fine. Joe Namath got loaded the night before the Super Bowl and they beat the Colts. There were others as well. Favre drank his ass off for 15 years and turned out all night. Bobby Lane was another. The kid broke his promise to Pettine and deserves a day off Monday. But that's about it. LOL at the Johnny haters that have become so sanctimonious. There is nothing illegal about drinking especially when you are on vacation. And yes, he was on vacation...collective bargaining agreement. He used poor judgment for sure since Pettine laid the law down. He should start the following week. Mike Pettine is the assclown that needs to be cut.

Was listening to the Nick Wilson experiment and is he hot over this. Says Manziel did absolutely nothing wrong and should start Monday. A lot of Browns fans feel the same way.

Going to be embarrassing this Monday night with a half empty stadium with people wearing orange paper bags over their heads on national tv watching Josh fricking McCown. We all know that Pettine doesn't want to give his team the best chance to win. The veterans in the know have to be pissed beyond belief. If he did, he would eat his pride and start the franchise quarterback who is going to be a stud one day.

There's your problem. Namath, Lane & Favre didn't live in an age where social media was rampant. Manziel is constantly in the media eye, more so by his own doings than anything else. I question that "Lil Johnny" actually loves the "game" more than he loves the "fame." He's a lying sack of shit who is all about "me" and not about "team."

You're probably right though. His lying ass will probably pull his Eddie Haskell "yes Coach Pettine, no Coach Pettine, thank you Coach Pettine" bullshit and he'll be starting in a few weeks. I want to see him play as much as anyone because they can finally cut bait with him, Pettine and (hopefully) Farmer, after JFF fails.

This season can't end fast enough. Then they will gut this team and they wIll be back to expansion mode AGAIN.

So footwedge, what is Manziel's QBR going to be this week? Can the resident mathematician please weigh in?

I'm waiting to see Manziel win these next 3 games and lead them to 4-2 over the next 6 games to "save Cueball's job." ;)

The true irony would be if McCown led them to 4-2 and saved Pettine's job.

Petty pettine strikes again!

In all honestly I think it's that he told Petty to his face that he wasn't going to party, then he did.

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't think McCown will lead them to 4-2 but I do think he could pull off a couple of wins, placing them just out of reach of a potential legit QB (if there s one). I thought JFF gave them the best chance to lose out an ensure the #1 overall pick. I know that sounds sad but this team will be in total rebuild mode in 2016.

He did. He sat down with Pettine, Flip & O'Connell and promised them he "wouldn't embarrass the franchise." I guess "embarrass" is open to interpretation.

All of the guys you listed produced at a high level. Johnny has sucked and not been prepared. The better comparison to Johnny in terms of off the field behavior is Todd Marinovich. He had abuse problems which led to him being out of the league within a couple years. Johnny is on that same path.

Very good comparison. I think JFF has more talent but solid comparison.

Johnny has sucked? Why, if you listen to Footwedge, we're less than two weeks away from a game in which Johnny had one of the best games by a quarterback in Cleveland's past 10 years. In a 30-9 loss where he committed more turnovers than led TD drives. But don't worry...that's because everyone else on the team let him down.

Sadly, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Do what you have to do to get Paxton Lynch. We win by losing, McCown can stay and mentor Lynch.

And fire any HC that gets butthurt after a first round pick hurts their feelz and tries to bench them.

It's not about hurting "feelz." It's about the fact that Manziel can't be trusted and is a liar. If you have a teenager, who can't be trusted and is a liar, you don't give them the keys to the car.

Manziel told the coaching staff he wouldn't "embarrass" them during his time off. Then this video surfaces = Manziel lied.

"Embarrass" is open to interpretation but JFF essentially mooned or pissed in the face of the coaching staff when given an order.

When the coaching staff gives you instructions, you follow them. Blatantly disregarding them means you can't be trusted to follow directions.

It's pretty friggin' simple. Manziel has nobody to blame but Manziel.

Pettine does need to be gone, along with Farmer, Manziel, Bowe & Gilbert. I'm sure we'll see quite a few veterans (Starks, Kruger, Dansby, Whitner, possibly Haden, etc) jettisoned by the new regime.
