Boise is a legit top 5 team, I think that the Bucks are a little better but that is debatable and will never happen anyway. Because Boise State is undefeated and beat a couple very good teams, I don't think that they should be ranked lower than #3 after the National Championship game. Rather anyone thinks another team could beat them is just an opinion and tne season is over and based on what happened (they're unbeaten) then they (Boise) should be rewarded for what they accomplished.

3. Oregon
4. Miami
5. Texas

Right now, as in before the BCS game...

1) Bama
2) Texas
3)Florida
4) Boise St.
5) Ohio State

I'm doubting that Boise comes out in the top 5 simply because they aren't going to give Boise that good of a chance to make the national championship.

Next year will be completely about Boise though.

Good post! Too many people make those type of comparisons and frankly they are ridiculous.

My preseason top 5:
1. Alabama-returning champs, nuff said
2. Ohio State-return ALOT, much improved team
3.Boise State-21 of 22 starters, watch out!
4.LSU-may be wrong but i think they return a good bit, including Jefferson
5. Oklahoma-same as LSU

Bullshit. Having watched that Boise/TCU game...neither of those schools would consistantly be able to compete with the big programs. Sure, give them 30 days to prepare for one game, then maybe. Put them in a major conference, they finish middle of the pack.

They have one common opponent. Ohio State has been praised for "shutting down Oregon's high-octane offense." Ohio State held Oregon to 260 offensive yards, and 179 of them rushing. Neat. Boise State held Oregon to 152 offensive yards; including a mere 31 yards rushing.

You can't compare these two games. Boise State beat Oregon at home in the first game of the season under a new coach. Ohio State just beat Oregon on a neutral field in a bowl game. The Boise team that beat Oregon FIVE months ago is not the same Boise team that just beat TCU, in the same way that the Oregon team who lost to Boise is not the same Oregon team that lost to Ohio State. You can't really compare what two teams did to their one common opponent when they played that common opponent 5 months apart. If you want proof of that look at Oregon and Ohio State's common opponents (USC and Purdue).
