I've been one of this dude's biggest critics but, for some dumb reason, I think he's going to keep clean this time. He really has no choice. This is likely his last chance....
This is one of those less talk, more show situations for me (and I assume all of us). I don't really give a fuck if he is posting that he is working hard. If he comes back to the Browns clean and is very productive then I will be happy, until then STFU and keep working for 2016. I will say that I am happy the Browns didn't just up right and cut him. They have nothing to lose with him 2 years under contract. Also, will he even be reinstated after this season?

I also think he's been given a raw deal. I would love to sucker punch that POS Gooddell.

I thought that the alcohol on the plane was "ticky tac", and could've deserved a mulligan, but he deserved every bit of what he got for his previous stupidity.

Yeah my beef is other players getting away with way worse. Meanwhile Gordon gets pwned for bs technicalities.

Bell gets arrested for driving while high and possession. 2 games! Beat the living shit out of your gf and choke her, no video tho, 4 games.

Grab a guy's face mask and drive his head into the turf, possibly causing a concussion(with a record ), no penalty bc it's not the browns.

He was told not to drink, and he fucking drank. It's not hard to figure out why they threw the book at him....wayy too many strikes.

But I 100% agree with GODell, his inconsistency regarding handing out punishment is a joke. Let's hope he let's someone else handle it in the future, like he said he would be open to.

Come on Auto, we're talking the difference of like 2 days here. Completely logical to think the season is over the day after the last game of the season. Wanna crush him, put his career in jeopardy over some QQ4F level of nitpicking and rule mongering? Not sure how the NFL can get away with telling a guy he can't alcohol anyways, just seems overkill. Might as well tell him he's not allowed to tap water, only bottled. Hold as much significance.

So the DWI should just be ignored by the league?

I would totally agree with your stance if he didn't have 39843093203023 fuckups prior.

2 of his encounters with the league were BS IMO (Cough Syrup and Alcohol). With the DWI, sure give him the same treatment Bell got, a slap on the wrist 2 games.

It was "cough syrup", weed, DWI, failed booze test.

That's 4 strikes. I know people who get escorted out of their job immediately if they fail a drug test.

Pretty easy to be on the high horse when your 2 starting QBs raped 3 women, drunk drove a motorcycle into a car, peed in public during a golf tournament bc he was drunk, and killed a bunch of dogs. You're starting OLBer beats women, RB you drafted is an Al Queda sympathizer, and your 2 RBs in the preseason got caught DWI-ing while high, had possession of an illegal substance, and were arrested. Meanwhile they get to continue to play with a 5 game suspension, and a 2 game suspension. Makes sense #NFLLOGIC

I knew that was coming sooner or later.

I just don't understand your stance. You're an educated person, not sure why you're so obtuse on this issue.

4 strikes. Also, don't forget the stuff in college.

My point is, if your players were treated in the same manner as browns players you'd be singing a different tune bc your team would suck ass.

This isn't even about him being a Brown and me being a Pittsburgh fan. I do not know one Cleveland fan who shares your feelings on this topic.

At least 3 women...

Don't forget their coach blatantly cheating and getting nothing. Nobody is claiming is an angel or a smart person, but he def got a raw deal. You're an educated person auto, I don't understand why you are so obtuse about this.

What part? The failed booze test? He was in the fucking NFL's substance abuse program. Told not to drink, then drinks. It's a blatant disregard of authority and your employer after been giving numerous chances to move forward and not fuck up.

Save me the history bullshit. If you are going to use that argument, at least think about what you are saying. Look at pac man jones for a prime example. He was suspended a full year for getting somebody shot/paralyzed, and then suspended half a season in another season after that full suspension. All 24 games came from goodell. Week 1 of this season, pac man turns into a straight thug and smashes cooper's head to his helmet several times. What does goodell give pac man? A wrist slap fine. This is coming from the same guy that tries to promote player safety with all these bullshit rules and suspended pac man 24 games. I don't want to hear how history plays a part in it. It is all bullshit inconsistencies with the NFL.

You seem to be progressive based on your posts, so I don't see how you could defend the NFL's decision to suspend a guy from having one drink during the OFF SEASON.

Again, I totally agree with you and COA on Goodell, just not that he should be lambasted for this decision for the year suspension. He didn't have a choice.

What do you think should have been done after the failed test for alcohol?

I think we all agree he is a dumbass, there is no doubt it. It's ok to think he is an idiot for not being careful, but thinking he got a raw deal at the same time.

To answer your questions, nothing. He should only be tested on banned substances. How many "official beer of the nfl" commercials do we see weekly? And the NFL is trying to punish people for drinking that shit? GTFO.

Yes, its backwards as hell, but he was in the substance abuse program. I don't know the details of being involved in that, but I'm assuming zero tolerance along with the regular testing.

If Vick is still in this league, anyone can/will be reinstated. He deserved a year off, but if he gets his life together like Vick did, he will be allowed back.

Initially I would have said cut him, but since it didn't really cost Cleveland anything to keep him around it could turn out great. He's looking jacked as fuck.

Yeah, I'm cool with that (your thoughts). Way too inconsistent.
