I have several reasons for predicting this....

1) Ravens have no WR's. Assuming Haden cleans out his vag, sacks the fuck up, and plays...they will have to focus on the TE's. Steelers secondary, which isn't very good, shut down the Rats passing attack.

2) Ravens O-Line isn't great in pass protection. Steelers have limited pass rush and sacked Flacco 5 times.

3) Ravens secondary sucks and the Browns have suddenly become a "pass first" team since the O-Line sucks.

The keys will be selling out on stopping the Rats running game (easier said than done) and keeping Dumervil out of McCown's face.

This isn't a real "measurable" factor but I think the Browns are going to be very pissed in this one. I expect it to be pretty low scoring and may come down to some Travis Benjamin punt return "magic."

Not guaranteeing a win but, for some strange reason, I think they are going to pull this out of their ass, somehow.

The Browns just played a team with decimated offensive line and WR corp. They still lost.

The Steelers limited pass rush in 4th in the league with 14 sacks.

You guys should be happy you're getting some "positivity" out of me with this dysfunctional team. This is still a 3-13 team, and even THAT may be a stretch.

Looks like even Mr "Sunshine & Ponies PLAYOFFS!!!" has come to grips with how bad this team sucks.

Oh, excuse him for having some optimism before the season starts, and once it does (and we realize we aren't a very good team) being realistic and predicting a loss against a team we'll be a 7 point underdog against. Lol

I agree with br's general thoughts that Baltimore isn't very good right now. I do believe it will be close, but my money is heavily against luke mccown as a QB and this organization as a franchise to pull out a win in a dogfight.

Same thing, both suck.

The main reason for my "optimism" is because this isn't the perennial Ravens type team we're used to. Yes, they can run the ball but their offense flat out sucks. This will be the worst offense the Browns have faced since the Jets game.

And as far as the "Chargers were decimated and were down to one WR" comment that was posted earlier, yeah...they were. The Rats also don't have Philip Freakin' Rivers as their QB. They have overrated/overpaid Joe Flacco.

The Raven pretty much NEVER scare me as an opponent because of the style of football they play and the fact that their QB play will always give you a "punchers chance" to stay with them.

If the Browns can somehow do a decent job of stopping the run (yes, I know...HUGE task), this game will be there for the taking at the end. They have to clean up some stupid bullshit (penalties) and hopefully they try to run outside the tackles (Rats NT is a tackling machine...rare for a NT). I also think that McCown will be able to take his shots deep with Benjamin as the Rats aren't great in deep coverage.

FIFY

Our defense can't stop anyone, so our only chance is scoring a lot of points.

So basically change every weakness we have in one week. Sounds about right for BRSPN

Of all the coaches in the NFL, BB has probably been at the forefront of embracing the "who needs a feature back?" mentality that has swept over the NFL recently. He picks up a couple scrap pieces and relies on Brady's skill being distracting enough to defenses that virtually anyone can give them 4+ yards a carry. Their offense is solely based around Brady. That made things funny when Foot started patting himself on the back about Dion Lewis because he started for the Pats while Blount was suspended. Just another case of something that's factually accurate on one level, but clueless on another. The reason he is in NE is because he's cheap. The reason he can contribute is because defenses are so concerned with Brady that they can't focus on the running game.

Things have been like that in NE forever. I remember a game early in Brady's career against the Steelers when they hardly called any runs the entire game. LeBeau's zone blitz scheme was all the rage then, so NE had an offensive game plan designed almost completely around short, quick-hitting passes (lots of bubble screens). The defense was on its heels the entire game while he completed one 5-10 yard pass after another. Most teams/QBs can't do that. NE can and exploits that their QB is simply better than virtually anyone else.
Yeah....that game masterfully sucked lol

Tabor said CB Justin Gilbert is now lead kick returner. #Browns

Translation: "I'm a stubborn dumbfuck who refuses to admit what everyone and their grandmother already know. Gilbert should have been our #1 KR, and probably punt returner last season. He was one of CFB's best returners, wasn't getting on the field as a CB and when you use a #8 overall draft on an EXTREMELY athletic playmaker you have to find ways to get him involved. We are stubborn butthurt bitch boys tho, and won't admit it. Any geek off the street could hve produced a better depth chart with more thought behind it. Instead of having an electric playmaker return kicks, we opted for a guy recovering from a torn ACL when it was obvious he didn't have it, and a 35 yr old white safety who's entire job was to just not fumble. Took us way too long to fix the issue, but we're going to try and make it sound like it was Gilbert's fault that we're fucking idiots."

"My call sheet ended up looking like a 2-year olds coloring book" - O'Neil on finding out Haden wasn't available Sunday

Jim O'Neil "thought our tackling improved...we had some guys step up" Donte Whitner, Johnson Bademosi, Xavier Coper among those mentioned
Just so completely out of touch with reality in Berea right now. Makes you wonder if the coaches are watching the same game as the fans and players.

O'Neil must have incriminating photos of the entire Pettine family as that is the only justification I can think of because Mike is throwing his career away for this guy and seems just fine with it.

Pettine and xpany talking about switching Gilbert's position. I'm sorry farmer has to go. 8th overall pick two years ago and a postion change. Are you fucking kidding me?!

Pettine was the one that reportedly made the huge push to get Gilbert at all cost.

If Farmer has to go than so should Pettine. After all, this is a guy that thinks Jim O'Neil is talented. That might be a bigger indictment than anything Farmer has done, and I despise Ray Farmer.

Had him at WR today and they said he "didn't look out of place."

It sucks that Farmer has about the same success at drafting 1st rounder's as a blindfolded deaf monkey but, at this point, I'm ALL for ANY value they can get out of Gilbert. It looks pretty obvious that he isn't all that good at playing the position he was drafted at.

If the only contribution he gives the team is as a kick returner and occasional WR, than I guess he's the Browns' "Ted Ginn Jr." Have to take what you can get.

Turbin out again this week.

Dude fits right in with this team. He's a freaking puss.

I said last week Pettine should have to walk home from San Diego if they couldn't beat a decimated Charger squad.

This week the Ravens have zero receivers. If the Browns can't pull this one out it might be time to contract the franchise as there will be truly be no hope.

The worst thing about last week's loss was McCown's career game and his 119 q'back rating. With Cueball at the helm, McCown will be leading a perennial 4-12 team for the next 4 years or so. Scrumptious.

Bon appetite.
