Several teams that were in the hunt for the playoff earlier today aren't anymore, so I guess it could be worse. There is definitely room for improvement.

I don't think too many were eliminated today....just Georgia and even then there could be some scenarios. Ole Miss took a punch to the face but too much left. Not a Hater Sleeper just a Realist. They performed exactly as I predicted and so did Indy. There were some bright spots in terms of the OL and some gags in terms of QB play and Def Line. There are better teams out there but not anybody that is clearly a juggernaut. The damn problem is scUM looks better every week.

So....what to do about Jalin Marshall? Do they keep letting him touch the football? He seems to give you a big play ability, but negates that with big fumble possibility as well. There's no one else that can return punts or catch then fumble the ball? Curtis Samuel? Dixon?

Not that my opinion matters, but Jalin should be benched the rest of the year. He's had 5 fumbles this year which is way too many. Ray Small 2.0 is a great comparison. I agree about Dontre, he seems to be running mad when he touches it this season. They did not look great last year at this time either. They are finding ways to win. QB needs a lot of work and OC needs to get it together.

The struggled with Indy, Minny, Penny & scUMmie last year too, not putting any of them away until late 2nd half. Then they got on some kind of super level for 3 games that maybe will never fully be understood. This team is basically the same team that struggled in those earlier games MINUS two exceptional WRs. I'm starting to think we all just had too high of expectations for this team after the 3 super level games which maybe were huge anomalies. Now its up the Urbie to coach them up enough to remain unbeaten and slide into the playoffs. As this season continues to shape up, nobody looks like they are unbeatable...which is good for OSU.

It's not the same team because everyone is a year older, more experienced and despite a few key losses, the depth is better.
Ohio State's season is going to be defined just like Florida State's was last year. How bad does the core of the team want to REPEAT? It's cliche, but it's a lot easier to chase such a lofty goal than it is to defend it again. Especially against a few contenders (Michigan State, Alabama, TCU and Baylor) who had their seasons ruined BECAUSE of that OSU team.
We've seen super talented players and teams win it the first time, but there's a reason hardly anyone repeats. It has little to do with talent and coaching though...

If you would have told me at the start of the season that we would only beat Indiana and NIU by 7; I would have probably bet you a million dollars that would never happen. Clearly, this team is talented but needs to stay hungry if it wants to repeat.

Here's how I see things through 5 games- The play calling is horrible, for the most part the o-line has not lived up to expectations, Cardale can't read a defense so he holds onto the ball way to long, (the deep ball which is the only reason he is starting has been a huge disappointment, every ball under thrown, poor pass rush, I expected more from Bosa and Lewis if we don't blitz we have no pressure, penalties over 100 yards every game the sign of a poorly coached and undisciplined team. AS Butch Davis said on ESPN everything that is wrong with the Buckeyes is fixable, it's not lack of talent so I expect them to get thing together but it better be sooner than later, they can't keep escaping defeat forever playing at the current level.

I agree with you for the most part, but Lewis has been playing better than I expected. Bosa is largely invisible but it seems Lewis is causing a lot of problems on the line. Also, thank the lord for Darron Lee and Raekwon.
