Political labels like "Socialist" and "Conservative" have become like "Fascist!" in Europe - they convey different meanings to different people and are mostly worthless. They are little more than tribal markers. Socialist party members laugh at Bernie Sanders calling himself a socialist and decry him as a "liberal" and "state capitalist" whereas people on the right talk like he is Leon Trotsky. Meanwhile the "Alt-Right" calls any Republican who doesn't believe in mass deportation and closed borders "not a true conservative" now.

Donald Trump shares half of Bernie Sanders' positions on tax and spending policy but rightists would vote for him over Hillary Clinton who is more to the right on tax and spending issues than either of them. Go figure.

Technically there is no "traditional" socialism. Every socialism in existence has varied by degree. From Marxism to modern day Sweden, none are the same. But by all means, don't let that stop you from talking out of your ass.

ill agree most small businesses are taxed too high. Any medium to large business is able to take advantage of too many tax loopholes and deductions to be taxed too high.

The American people (all) are sick of the career politician. The traditional party line separation ideology, hard core agenda that no longer benefit America as a country is becoming threatening. The hard core Rep and Dem will blow this idea that America is sick of career hacks off but I think there is an underlying feeling across the country that this straight talking, business minded and in touch with the American people feelings is what the majority of the populist is wanting. Most important is the idea that as a candidate they will speak their mind right or wrong and give a shit what the media thinks.

I would say that the regulatory burden now far exceeds the tax burden, especially with the current regime's EPA, DOL, and NLRB, on top of obamaKare. Add in Dodd-Frank and several other recent fiats and business has been stifled.

Funny enough, one of Obama's biggest problems as evidenced by his interaction with Congress and foreign leaders is that he probably wasn't in office long enough. He went from being a State Senator where he did nothing to a Senator that had the progressive liberals begging him to run for president since they day he got there.

Joe Biden - despite all of his flaws - has been the guy who has gotten things done with Mitch McConnell and kept things as smooth as possible with Netanyahu despite the Iran deal he hates.

People hate career politicians but as with anything else, career politicians like Nixon, LBJ, Biden, Bill Clinton, these guys don't usher in the ideological dream world many of their most ardent supporters want but they can at least hammer things out.

Sorry but my guess is that a guy like Ben Carson, Trump and Fiorina would have problems when they have to try and work with Joe Blow from the agricultural district in rural Missouri - the same sorts of problems Obama has had.

This is why I don't hump term limits. It can empower the unelected in government and deball the elected. This is why the founders did not demand them. The people determine the limits of a politicians term at defined intervals. Not some piece of paper. If the people want a seasoned politician that has the experience and clout to get things done or a political novice that is nothing more than a middle finger that is there choice. I'm not saying a political novice can't get things done they can there is its just they have to be able to climb over the political wall.

Also not getting things done in Washington is not always a bad thing. There is a reason we have the separation of powers. And there is a reason why there is why there is more encroachment by the executive and judicial because they are the most efficient means of "getting things done."

Donald Trump doesn't like the fact that Marco Rubio has risen in the polls and has gone personal on the Fla. senator this week . Rubio for his part, has pretty much stayed above the fray, calling Trump out for the the lack of substance in his talking points, and responded to the attacks on him by calling Trump "thinned skinned" and "touchy" when it comes to criticism, a point that may be an understatement considering Trump's picking a fight with someone almost daily.

Today, at the Values Voter conference, Trump was booed by conservative activists when he called Rubio " a clown".

Rubio killed it imo. That's two debates in a row where he has stood out and made a move. Owned the media too, which is always great. I think he would destroy hillary or sanders in a debate as well.

He was good, as usual, and so were a lot of the others. Loved it when Cruz took the moderators/media to the woodshed, followed up by Christie and others.
