The impact of Tom Herman is showing pretty hard.

I'm losing a lot of confidence in this team. I think defensively we are still solid but with the amount of turnovers we had in that game(5?), the defense can only hold so much.

In fact, if it wasn't for the defense, we lose that game. Is that going to be able to bail us out against the B1G schedule or further? Probably not.

They have the talent to overcome this slow start but it has to change fairly quickly or they will drop out if the top 4. I doubt they are #1 on Monday.

Cardale, on the other hand, was horrible.
Did we watch the same game? Cardale got one quarter and sucked, JT sucked for three.

The thing that concerns me is that it looks that it is more coaching than anything else.... They look disorganized offensively. I'm not sure exactly whose fault that is… But the head coach has got to get that fixed. In all seriousness, the clock mismanagement at the end of the game is " high school" stuff, and can't be tolerated. I'm not sure who's responsible, but that looks really, really bad.

I agree. The coaches aren't in sync and the players look lost on the field.

This team needs to lit a fire under its ass or we will not repeat. The talent is there but it has to be harnessed appropriately.

Didn't get to see this game but we escaped with a win. Urban will adjust. Still undefeated and still #1.

They don't deserve the #1 this week. In fact a drop would have been good for them I think.

They are still #1 and will continue to be #1 until they lose. Good chance they never drop from #1 this year.

Lets get JT in there as the starter, get back to running the read-option and give Braxton and Zeek as many touches as possible.

I just want to see an up-tempo offense more often. On JT's second drive, they sped up the pace significantly and drove right down the field effortlessly. Most of the game, they didn't do that and it just seemed that when NIU could keep up with the pace, their defense wasn't having any troubles.
